Not a penalty, but it wasnt a dive from Ronaldo either. But Rob Styles needs a slap.

So lets not bombard our boards with ronaldo dived threads because he didnt. It was a shocking decision by Styles.

Ronaldo dived, he is throwing himself forward long before the leg even touches him! - have another look ...um i will too and if i find i am wrong [which i'm not ] i will apologise
===============================================

He doesnt dive he just goes to ground very easily, but in fairness he didnt appeal for a peno, it was the refs mistake he gave it. What do you expect Ronnie to do, it wasnt his fault the ref messed up. I think we would have won the game anyway, we were creating chance after chance and it was only a matter of time before we scored.

No dive, good tackle. Ronaldo is an excellent diver but if you think that was a dive then you have never played the sport. He can't dive in that position, it was simply the momentum from the tackle that took him out. You have to tackle players like Ronaldo hard or they will make you pay, and that is all that was. He didn't even look at the ref when he fell which is a sure sign he didn't mean to fall.

Babyfacedassassin2,
ok I was a big fan of Solskjaers!

Now, i don't know if you would have won or not, i only watched the highlights - and to be honest i don't really care - but to say 'Ronaldo went to ground easily' is basically admitting he dived?

I think Ronaldo is a very talented player... but it is the diving i object to, not just him peacedove but by anyone as it diminishes the game as a whole! grr

And Players who seek to gain an unfair advantage in this way should be punished.

Not a penalty, not a dive, bad decision from the ref - not much to debate here.

ive read an article where it says that the United players were saying it wasnt a penalty. I remember an incident when Liverpool were given a penalty against Arsenal a few years back that never was. Robbie Fowler stepped up and missed on purpose.

If Ronaldo honestly thought it wasnt a penalty he should have blasted the ball high and wide or just rolled it to the keeper. But No, he scores. Says a lot about a mans character. I personally would have had more respect had he missed it.

Please bring in Video evidence! A fourth official can then overrule the ref. over contentious goals, penalties, simulation, and dangerous play. The refereee can't be everywhere and doesn't have a multi-angled perspective. I am a betting man and I believe if the bookies are allowed to take bets on a game then the result should not be in question. Perhaps, there is a legal precedent here. United wouldn't have the benefit of so many dubious decisions especially those concerning Ronaldo.

Sure.

Only Fowler remembers it differently.

--
Many people wrongly believe that Fowler deliberately took the penalty kick poorly for reasons of fair play. However, he later stated that "I tried to score. I never missed on purpose. It just happened, it was a bad penalty."

Even in the case of a horrible decision, you step up and put it away. Why? Because those decisions are going to go against you just as often. The referee made the mistake, not the players. It's part of the game.

Shut up whinging! If the ref says its a penalty then it's a penalty. Well done Ronnie for getting up and scoring..3pts United.

If it was your own crappy teams you would have ALL claimed it happily. Now go and find something useful to do with your time.
