Shevabk2milan (U9020026) posted Sep 25, 2008 Michael Owen - England's best player by far and yearning for Champions League football. I feel sorry for the lad really, which is a change to my attitude on him since he was once quoted to say that England had a squad that was only 2nd best to Brazil - arrogant. But i feel for the lad now.

rjw619 (U13348584) posted Sep 25, 2008 Why don't Newcastle fans buy the club off Ashley and run the club themselves appoint 'King Kev' as manager let him spend £300,000,000 on whatever players he likes and the fans come run the club however they fancy and win the league and the European Cup next season!!!! DREAM ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

raging-spurs (U9592837) posted Sep 25, 2008 Emma, just because you hold a different opinion please don't call me a mug.I merely expressed my view on the state of football today. I saw my first match at White Hart Lane in 1958 and have seen more football than many so called fans. I also remember many fine Chelsea teams but since the complete takeover of a sport by what is laughingly called big business the fun has gone out of it. *I am not mug enough* to pay large sums of money to watch ordinary players who are paid a kings ransome and have little or no contact with the fans or loyalty to them or their club.Frank Lampard holds the badge when he scores, yet spat his dummy out over his huge contract.

fireyhappypierre (U13418411) posted Sep 25, 2008 Yes indeed I am over 60, sorry about that, but the world doesn't yet belong to just the young. What I would say is this, football is a pretty simple game , and really isn't better to watch now than in the past, but the price for this commodity(which is what it is)has risen beyond it's real value. Now if the price of goods goes up and the value doesn't then the business is in trouble. I've been in White Hart Lane with over 70,000 people in it and watched a great side play, and it didn't beggar me to do so.P.S. Spelling and grammar lessons would seem to be in order.

Britishfan01 (U13294263) posted Sep 25, 2008 I am a Spurs fan and we have been awfull so far this year, however I will always support them and follow them. Why do Newcastle fans think they are a big club!? They never have been and have never won anything, ok they have but not for a very long time. Maybe with the size of the city Newcastle is you would expect a big and successfull team etc. Except for the early- mid 90's with Keegan they have never been any good. The expectation is un-realistic. I also do not think the support is as good as everyone says it is, i have been to a few spurs away games at Newcastle and could only here the spurs army!!
