Welcome to the Carling Cup. The only rule is that no-one slags off the Carling Cup. OK?

Brilliant. Then let's look forward to what potentially could be a cracking evening of cup football.

There's Man Utd-Boro, Arsenal-Sheff Utd, Liverpool-Crewe and what may be a lively encounter in Swansea as they take on Welsh rivals Cardiff.

It's the cup, the final's at Wembley and the winners go into Europe. What more do you need?

606 really need to sort out this service closing at 11pm.

That is too soon after a game to have a good debate seeing as a lot of games finish at 9.45pm.

Sort it out BBC, otherwise good work.

The tackle on Possebon drew blood from his calf. It was a disgrace and worse than the Eduardo tackle.

i agree.....gunner fans donīt get on me here....eduardo is a fantastic player, but i feel that the taylor tackle was deemed very bad because of the tv coverage, especially the slow motion replay....horrific, yes, but if you look at it in real time, taylor was a split second late....eduardo was too quick for him......this tackle on possebon was knee high with both feet....the right foot following after the left.....incredible.

i look forward to seeing eduardo play soon, I also want to see possebon get back as well.

The people bringing this up are mostly scousers, what do you expect? Our players could be doing charity work for AIDS orphans and the scousers would find a way to have a go. Bitter to the last.

Pleaese dont tarnish all Liverpool supporters with the same brush. Some of us have great respect for football and do not enjoy this sort of incident. I dont care what team they play for, i just care for players saftey.

One point to think about. Everyone knew Wenger was going to play his kids against Championship opposition but still 56,000 showed up on a Tuesday night..

TheHumanAbstract (U11384306),

Yea, it's a matter of opinion but a scouser opinion on United isn't worth dirt. Buust himself said it was an accident didn't he? Is that not good enough for you. Of course not.

If United fans want to have a go at Pogatetz then they have every right to, without someone like you telling them they're hypocrites. How do you know how these guys felt about Keane? I know several United fans who were utterly ashamed about what Keane did and never saw him in the same way again.

I may give it tight to Liverpool sometimes but I'm not a classless low-life who'd use a major injury to a young player as an opportunity to have a go.

Just been on United forum redcafe and seen a link to some thread on the 'Red And White Kop' Liverpool forum. Quotes such as "I hope his leg is snapped in 20 places" and "Pity it didn't happen to one of their good players".

Classless bitter low-lifes. Liverpool fans used to be decent. Life in our shadow has destroyed your minds.

The tackle by Emanuel Pogatetz against Possebon is a serious tackle that deserves further punishment. But not withstanding that i think man united stands the chance of winning the carling cup.
