League One Cheltenham Town

Martin Allen has just put 6 players up for transfer: Armstrong; J. Gill; Legister; Lindegaard; Low; & Ridley.

Don't think there's any real surprises there, except possibly Armstrong.

I cannot see who would want to loan out J. Gill! He past it big time. Nothing to offer for any club really...

Do fellow fans think Armstrong been playing sh*te this season? Would you like to see him loaned away?

I have a soft spot for Armstrong - not a sophisticated player but very steady. Then again his passing has been dodgy at times this season. He can be good in front of the back four as a sweeper-upper but not really a sweeper. If you catch my drift......

Armstrong I think MA took exception to his echo outburst.
jerry was to hang up his boots up at the end of the season so he told my son in law.
Low very disappointing not given enough time the jury`s out on that one.
Lindy, Legister,Ridley not good enough, although had a soft spot for lindy scored some crucial goals.
Although MA says its not attitude they have been great in training but he dosent see them pushing for a first team place.

Armstrong is always a committed tackler, and as Reg says, good in front of the back four. However, he's too one footed and can't pass. A useful squad player at this level, I would have thought, and rarely gets injured.

I always thought Birdy could play this role, possibly Ben Gill, although I'm not too sure how good a tackler he is. See that Bird's out for 2 months with a broken toe, so perhaps Armstrong will get a temporary reprieve.

I thought part of Cheltenham's problem with attracting the better players was the club not being willing to meet their wage demands. Perhaps offloading all of these players will free up cash to do that for the January transfer window.

Well he's not impressed me either. He can't tackle and his work rate is low (no pun intended). smiley

I think MA wants players that'll fight for every ball. KD must have been getting desparate when he signed him. sadface

Putting Low on the list was a good idea. A waste of money.

Gill doesn't have much in the way of options at his age, it's somewhere in the blue sq if not below...

i think there are only 5 or 6 players good enough to play in league one.. so finding another 8 or 9 (as some will need to strengthen the squad) will be difficult.. i imagine those listed are towards to top end of the wage bracket.. sources suggest the top earners are on £1.5k per week. so freeing up wage money and getting possibly transfer income even if it's 10k in total.. it'll help. we have to spend £200k from the Stevie G deal and get a CB, RB, LW, RW, CM and CF and a back up LB.

will the club put £2m in to get a play off place!? as that's what it will take.
