Why all the pessimism

Yes we have had a terrible couple of weeks and the confidence around the club is at an all time low but to say we are going to be in relegation battle is way off. By my reckoning we have 6 players who would be in starting xi out at the min (Beye, Enrique, Barton, Jonas, Martins, Guthrie. Plus Viduka LuaLua Carroll) Barring Maun U and Chelsea if you took 6 first choice players out of any team in league then they would go through a bad run as well. So lets not worry to much yet. Hopefully Beye Enrique Jonas and Martins will be back next week then we will start seeing performances pick up again. Chin up boys keep the faith.

Newcastle and Spurs are both good teams, yet it is still possible for one of them to get relegated. Hmmm, i remember saying this about Spurs last year and look who won the Carling Cup ...

Saying Tottenham/Newcastle may get relegated is like saying Hull may claim a Champion's League spot. How early is it in the season? Not even October for crying out loud.

JayredIt my Mancunian friend, it wasn't the fans who got rid of Fat Sam, it was the redoubtable Mike Ashley. It was soon after Fat Sam had been applauded off the pitch by the fans that MA pulled the plug.

But, hey, why let facts get in the way of a good argument.

from a Boro fan's perspective I find this all very very funny. You are all having to come back down to earth and are facing the fact that you are not the massive club you think you are. And before you start slagging the Boro off have a look at our recent history since Steve Gibson became chairman;
1995 Div one Champions
1997 Runners up League cub
1997 Runners up FA cup (yes I know we were also relegated that year)
1998 Runners up Div one
1998 Runners up League cup
2004 Winners league cup
2006 Runners up UEFA cup

plus a couple of FA cup semi's on the way, a few more runners up medals than we would have liked but more than you lot have managed in the same period. Boro are now the best team in the North east, despite the fickle fans and poor attendances. And the reason for that is Steve Gibson, what would you give for him to run your club?

Fans should always be allowed to have thier say,after all they plough hundreds of hard earned pounds a year into season tickets and not getting a good return. Incedentally, wasn't FC United of Manchester formed on the back of a fans revolt?
