I've had enough of this!!!
What are my beloved Liverpool doing. We dominated that match from start to finish and not once did we score.(One chalked off for a dubious off-side!!!??)
Our set pieces were woeful and don't get me started on our shooting.
Jesus Christ!
I hope Rafa docks all the players wages for a month that'll teach em.
I hope to hell this isn't a run of stupid draws like last season!
And can somebody please kidnap Kuyt. He is 110% rubbish, how on earth he gets on the playlist before Babel is a conspiracy theory in itself.
I'm gonna tear my hair out if this happens again.
AAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same old story at Anfiled, here we go again... It makes no sense at all to beat your biggest rivals, if you can't keep the three points at home against Stoke City the week after. Although Liverpool deserved to win the game and by the chances they had they should have won it, the performance against Stoke City isn't good enough to win the Premiership. These games, it sometimes happens. But it happens to much with Liverpool, I'm afraid.

The goal was offside. Liverpool fans get over it.The brutal fact about Liverpool is that they don't have the self belief that they can win the league. Some legendary buffoon on here posted some nonsense a few days ago about Gerrard being the best midfielder in the world. Well until he inspires Liverpool to a title and England to at least a final. He and Liverpool will keep picking up the crumbs. Well
done Stoke. But you guys should calm down the season is still young!!!!

Why are people coming on here just to wind up Liverpool fans. I thought the purpose of these boards was to analyse the game. And whoever said theyd take Rooney over Torres, lol get real.

From my view this result was inevitable, Liverpool have been poor all season, and have struggled to break teams down consistently, there not as creative as the other 3, so this was bound to happen, and will so in the future, so they wont be contenders. In my opinion the blame should be laid at the feet of Rafa. He had an set formation which clearly worked (4231 with gerrard in the hole) and the team went on agreat run. This was also the formation used for Man U. Yet Rafa has changed it to accomodate an average player (Keane)

I agree with Gooner 3000.
Benitez after 5 yrs doesnt know his best team or formation.Where are the wingers???We need someone who can go past defenders and put in a good ball.As you watch L'pool they always seem to revert to passing it into the centre because our wingers cant hold posession/get by defenders and cross the ball. Also if you watch Utd,Chelsea and Arsenal they get the ball out wide and their wing backs overlap to cross it into the box.If Benitez bought players that had this ability and incorporated this tactic then we could breakdown the likes of Stoke(no disrepect to them). But come on would you expect Ferguson or Wenger to justify a performance like Benitez did against Stoke if their teams played like this. No!

Yes we beat Utd and was delighted but it just seems we cant adapt to play against physical teams like stoke because we lack creativity out wide.We played Marseille during the week and were v.lucky to win.If you look at the league we have scored 5 in 5 matches.Count how many goals were genuinely good goals???We havnt outplayed any team this season except for Utd because most of their players didnt turn up.Im not trying to be too negative here but we need to get real we're slipping outside the top 4.Look at villa, they are just as good as us.Benitez's success in the C.League has glorified his reign in charge.Im sorry to say it but we will not win the title under benitez,we're still way behind!Somebody convince me please???

Okay, we did well to not let Liverpool win. But we need to remember not to assign the aspects of a victory to not being defeated. As to the 'gentleman' on here who has stated that we are in the perfect position to go back to where he believes we belong. At the moment, so are Spurs and Newcastle. Let's wait and see hmm?

HOW CAN ANY TEAM DESERVE A POINT BY PARKING THEIR BUS IN FRONT OFF THE GOAL?

I was at the game and it was a travesty. No offside in my opinion, i was sitting directly in front of Kuyt who had a stoke player in front of him. Also he never touched the ball and wasnt interfering with play. The referee was an unknown before the game, well everyone now knows who he is. Just a small fish in a very BIG pond. Mr Marriner i salute you. You imbasil!

I think its time for two things - video replays at the request of the captain and coach. Also for referees to come out and explain their stupid decisions. Guns are illegal in this country so they wont get shot.

To Stoke fans - you can cheer all you like but you know as well as i do had the first goal gone in, you would have got a right stuffing. as it was, you got away with Murder like OJ Simpson.

Yes Everton broke Stoke down three times away from home but Stoke have to play a bit more attacking at home otherwise wahts the point. I fully expect us to goto Stoke in the reverse fixture and annihilate the poor people back into Championship Oblivion! Me annoyed yes.

I didnt see the match or the highlights. However as a pool fan, Im content.
I look at the league table (which doesnt lie) and I see 11 points from 5 games with no defeats and the best defence (again!). I see Arsenal playing like a team possesed like last season scoring goals for fun, I see Chelsea playing smooth attacking football, I see Utd stuttering like they do every season. I see Villa/City et al. playing well but conceding too many. I feel a sense of deja vue, but i look again at the table and I see 11 points from 5 games and crucially win against old enemy. Im content. We didnt lose, we shouldve won, WE DIDNT, we didnt concede, we were a little unlucky but we have had a fair share of luck at the start of the season so....
Pool fans dont be disheartened, we HAVE made a good start to the season which we can only build on. A point is better than none!

If we are to be considered title challengers then we should be beating teams like Stoke 3-0 quite easily.

Ive read Paul Tomkins column on www.liverpoofc.tv and its calmed me down. What would you prefer a win against Man U and a point against Stoke or thumping Stoke and getting a point against Man U. Im happier with the first, id rather beat United out of the two.

I agree that we have made a solid start to the PL Campaign, but 5 goals in 5 games is worrying statistic. It will come good, fingers crossed at 2.30 on Saturday we will be celebrating yet another derby win.

Carling cup starts again on Tuesday, be interesting to see what side he puts out. Does he start with Keane and tell him to go get a couple of goals or does he use youngsters to give them the Anfield Experience. Id use a blend of both.
Starts for Hyypia, Agger, Cavilieri, Pennant, Babel, Mascherano and Keane, up come Spearing, Darby, Insua and Ngog.

Why is there so much of a problem here, when you dont hear such as Chelsea supporters complaining (same results, same points), The Gunners lost to Hull and are now a point above us, and Manu are 14th

After watching the match, I still have the same mixed feelings about Kuyt.
He scores some tremendous goals against top class teams, when it matters (which probably is why he still is with us)
He is a work horse (although some would say, he doesnt conserve energy for when its needed)
He is still overpowering his passes - the Babel goal last week was from a very heavy pass from Kuyt, but he did set the goal up.
in the last 3 matches, he has wasted a few point blank shots, where you would expect him to score, but yet again, he is in there, where others are not.
We do need and always did need wide players, and I have no idea what has happened to Pennant.

Whats happened to Agger also?
I heard he didnt want to sign a new contract.

"HOW CAN ANY TEAM DESERVE A POINT BY PARKING THEIR BUS IN FRONT OF THE GOAL?"

How can your team deserve to win if they can't break down a defence? Btw - I wouldn't advise being so patronising about teams in lower divisions - Liverpool are among a few PL sides to be dumped out of cup competitions by these very teams in recent years.
