50 hours to go.....

Premier League Chelsea

...Until my personal favourite game of the season. Opinions will always be divided but that is the pure beauty of football. Yes United are going to be fired-up after Fergie's teamtalk - they know losing is not really an option. Yes Chelsea will want to put 9 points between them and their biggest rivals so early in the season, as well as avenging Moscow and that fateful slip.

Rivalries aside, here's to a brilliant, brilliant game of football, 22 men on the pitch come full time, Rio not wanting to fight a women, Evra not wanting to fight a groundsmen, Fergie not wanting to fight a referee and Rooney not wanting to fight anything and everything in sight! Oh yeah and JT not wanting to fight anyone when close to being last man, not to mention slipping over!

Come on Chelsea, KTBFFH come Sunday. Unbeaten in 4.5 years of football at the Bridge, unbeaten during 2008 in the Premier League - keep breaking records, making history and keeping us dreaming during dull work days!

Oh - Come on Stoke too. May your long throws cause havoc in the Liverpool box!

Someone write

"the media asked him would he like ronaldo in his team? he replied 'yes' like any other manager in world football would"

It may have escaped your notice, but few managers have the cash to bid for Ronaldo.
But Chel$ki, along with Real Madrid and Man-Sheikh-ster Ci£y and possibly Milan, can afford the money, and are also interested in extending their fan base in the far east.

You may think of Ronaldo as an over-rated right-winger. But tbis shows you listen to much to "experts" on $ky TV.

In fact, he is an asset that can sell almost as many shirts as Beckham.

That's why SAF bought Dong Fangzhuo; never played, sold a LOT of shirts in China though.

Like when Venables signed the captain of the Chinese Football team for Palace: First televised football match to have over a hundred million viewers or something.

Canny man, El Tel.

As for today's $ky premiership, It's just so predictable.

We hope and pray every year that something will shake things up, and it's true Man-Shiekh-ster city are about to, but it will take a couple of years.

Most of the season is teams like Man Utd and Chel$ki beating teams with 5% of their purchasing power.

Look at Chel$ski

Got Drogba at the African Nations Cup? Buy Anelka for 15.

Got an "injury crisis"? Turn to the German World Cup captain.

Got any problem? Spend another 50 million. Buy Sevchenko for £30 million and then let him go for nothing.

Lose £10 million on Wright-Phillips so no other team can have him, and who cares if this means no-one watches one of England's brighest players for three years.

And do the paying supporters care?

Not as long as "their" team can win games. They just keep buying the polyester shirts at £50 and watching $ky fron their pub in Surrey or Bankok.

i have never said anything of the sort, whatever u base this on i don't know

the simple fact is ronaldo only wants 1 place after united and that is madrid, and that could now be posponed for a few years

if u think chelsea or city stand any chance of signing ronaldo then u r foolish

What's you obsession with Surrey and Bangkok?

I think that's the 4th time they've been mentioned.

Surrey's a massive SEVEN miles from Fulham. You're just picking Surrey because you've got issues with the Middle Class, of which you are probably a member.

And you're picking Bangkok... because you're a great supporter of the child sex industry?

Doesn't have to be Surrey or Bankok. Could be Canada or China - there are just as many Chel$ki and Man U£d fans there, probably more in fact.

I have nothing against the middle class. Chelse always had middle class supporters as it's that kind of area.

But I was taking about the paying custoners who care about nothing as as long as "their" team can win games. They just keep buying the polyester shirts at £50 and watching $ky TV from Canada or China, or Surrey for that matter.

Are you saying I'm wrong?

My point about Ronaldo and his saleability - like Beckham - is that it is fundamentally about branding and the fact he can sell shirts worldwide.

This is why Man-Shiekh-ster Ci£y want to buy him, and Madrid and Chel$ki.

Man U£d can hold out only so long because the Glaziers, as a US outfit, raise their loans in markets that are being squeezed by the credit crunch.

Abramowitz and the Abu Dhabi royal family get their money from selling oil and gas.

I can't understand why the BBC want's to know Gullit's opinion? He was a great football player but as a coach he's a disaster. He's never been succesfull in any of the teams he's coached!
