Browse: Basketball GB in EB next year!by TheIncredibleGunners (U10752526) 17 September 2008 Fantastic! GB have qualified for the final round of Eurobasket. With a 67-63 win over the Czechs, GB (with the help of the Isrealis beating Bosnia) have qualified with a 4-1 record so far. As for the rest off group D ( Czech republic, Bosnia and Isreal), they are on 2-3, so a really tight finish for the 2nd spot in the group which may prove to be a ticket to next years finals. But we are there! I don't think people are going to take us too lightly anymore - although we don't have much chance of winning, but it is great nonetheless.

Inter_Tatters (U9172833) posted Sep 19, 2008 While there is no way we would've got this far without Luol Deng (and a huge thank you is due to whoever put their hand in their pocket to fork out the £250k to pay his insurance), Coach Finch has been excellent in making sure the team didn't become a one-man outfit. In the home game against Israel, for example, we had 5 players score in double figures and it was Mensah-Bonsu who top-scored, not Deng.

HOTSAUCE2323 (U4423655) posted Sep 19, 2008 lets be honest luol was the catalyst for the whole gb movement in 2005, he is certainly our best players but with him on board he has made players such as reinking and pops mensuh bonsa aswell as sullivan step up and dominate games, all in all luol is a very humble team player who is out for the win but if you watch him closely he gets most players involved and is very agile for a tall player
