This is great news, we need him badly for the man u game, I thought it was a ridiculous tackle, and it's not often that the FA help us out.
Come on the Blues!!!

I am also a neutral and in all honesty thought it was a red card offence (for serious foul play) and find it incredible (but not surprising, sadly)that the FA have overturned the decision. As a result Terry now receives absolutely NO punishment (as cannot be downgraded to a yellow card). That's not justice for what was a deliberate act to halt a player no matter what.

"The red was given for serious foul play, the definition of which is unequivocal and of which Terry was not guilty. Further, Mark Halsey refused to look any Chelsea player in the eye when he issued the red card. That is not the mark of a referee in control. His body language was one of someone running scared. The decision was bad enough, but to be unable to reinforce it by conviction leaves a question mark on his ability to officiate at this level."

Typical chelski drivel...

Firstly, the definition of foul play is guidelined, not immutable (unequivocal doesn't mean what you think it means) so what constitutes it can be objectively reviewed, in this case JT tackles, misses, then brings him down from behind, if Jo had been injured by this we'd all agree it was a foul.

Secondly, Halsey shouldn't have to look any player in the eye, he shouldn't be mobbed by Chelsea thugs, as always, but he was, and that would make me uncomfortable, but it doesn't equate to poor refereeing skills. Very Mourinho parting shot as well. You're all the same, (guys like this not Chelsea fans) not fans of football at all, blindly spouting your team's line without any opinion of your own, pathetic. Open your eyes before you post on here, and read a dictionary too

I have no vested interest and I agree with Eurekaba.

No - he doesn't have to be injured you dipstick - it WAS a foul

<<Secondly, Halsey shouldn't have to look any player in the eye, >>

True - it would help thought. Explain once clearly the card and get on with it. That's all. Ref's want respect, so do the players.

<<he shouldn't be mobbed by Chelsea thugs, as always, but he was, and that would make me uncomfortable, but it doesn't equate to poor refereeing skills.>>

Mobbed no, not even close. But at least you agree it was very poor refereeing skills

The opinion is wide and clear. No Red for serious foul play (because it wasn't), No red for last man (again because it wasn't). It was a yellow clean as a whistle. 5 mins later Dunne does the same thing on Drogba and what happens - nowt. I want balanced, fair, and clear referring - that's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

<<Open your eyes before you post on here,>>

You'd do well to head your own words

dreaded_eddie, there would be no point in dahem04 opening his eyes, he`d only see the inside of his own body as he has his head so far up his own ass. i cant believe people are still arguing this garbage. if it had been a wigan player no-one would have bothered commenting. if Terry had been given a yellow, no-one would have been arguing he should have had a red. the chelsea haters really have been wound up by this, and its brilliant. JUSTICE FOR THE CHELSEA 1. well done the FA.

Jonny, a KEY player is allowed to play when he should have been suspended for our game today. Sod Deco and co. Fergie doesnt give a monkeys at those.

As a manager, he has a right to question the whole process at the FA when JT is let off, whilst others would have remained suspended.

PS today, it was highlighted that Man United have 6 tough away games in a row coming up - whilst Chelsea have FIVE in SIX games in a row at HOME.

Something smells fishy......

didnt seem to bother anyone when we had exactly the same 2 seasons ago with the fixtures after champions league games. in fact, i seem to remember utd fans telling us to get over it and stop using it as an excuse.

Actually Dunne body-checked Drogba when he was about to shoot in the penalty area, so it was a lot worse...
