West Ham fan in peace.............wot do u chelsea fans think of ur clubs stance over Steve Clarke? After 21yrs loyal service, do u not think they shud b saying "thnx for yrs loyal support" a big pat on the bk with a gd luck message? After all, its not as if he's going to one of ur main rivals ie manu. Its not like he's gonna turn the Hammers into a top 4 force? Wot r ur thoughts?

come on magical zola, stop bein logical and making sense. theres no place on here for that. dont you know that everything chelsea do is evil and wrong. if they take any staff from anywhere they have to pay over the top fees. yet if one quits to go elsewhere we should let him go for free.

Steve Clarke didn't appear happy last season and it was only a matter of time before he left.

He has given years of loyal service to the club and will be sadly missed. But rather he go somewhere else if he is not happy than stay.

Best of luck to him, I am sure most Chelsea fans wish him all the best.

Magical Zola, what makes you think West Ham didn't know this? This is how business is done, by discussing how much compensation is to be paid. Chelsea wanted 5m and the Hammers weren't willing to pay that amount and they came to a settlement. END OF

Look I'm a West Ham fan of more years than I care to remember and when we play Chelsea / Spurs / Arsenal etc I want to see us turn you over, naturally.
However when you aren't playing against us and are representing the UK in Europe I would rather see you succeed than fail. So I am not one of those Hammers fans who see Chelsea as all "...evil and wrong...".
That said I am a very contented Hammers fan now that we have Steve Clarke on board and can well imagine why a Chelsea fan would be sad to see him go. At even 5 million he would still be a better buy than some recent purchases !! At a couple of million he is no doubt a bargain.
I am not totally over the moon at this stage that we have Mr Zola mainly because I am not a lover of the Italian brand of football that we have seen so many times over the past decades.
However Zola was a superb attack minded player who may, and I hope he does, focus more on attack and providing entertaining football as a manager, than Alan Curbishley and Mr 'Happy' Day.
Steve Clarke will I believe enable Zola to pick his brains of the wealth of knowledge that he has gained under many very good Chelsea managers. Therefore, providing our directors have learned a lesson and providing some of the prima donnas buck their ideas up, I think we will move forward rather than backwards.
Heres to hoping anyway !!
At least the football won't be as bad as it got last season, I feel reasonably sure of that.

its great news that clarke has arrived at chadwell heath , and i agree with many of you they both need to be backed now and given time to turn us round, this will take time on the training ground and like i have said before we all need to get behind Zola, and look at what improvements we make on the pitch this season.
Clarke will take our defence and start from basics and although we don't have terry ect to work with he still has upson at the spine and a good keeper in green, its a case of finding a good balance with the rest , and get back to passing the ball to each other.

no point keeping an unhappy employee anywhere. A big thank you to Stevie for his services and wish him good luck when westham utd is not playing Chelsea. I dont think CFC can find an equal replacement to what they have lost in Steve Clarke but at least they tried keeping him. Extremly sad and disappointed to see him go as we have just lost someone with 20 years of experience. I guess you should never celebrate bad things happening to other teams because the same will happen to you. When Carlos left Manutd for portugal I was happy because that would have definitly weakened Manutd and look at what happened to us. I was also happy to see the Vidic-Ferdinand partnership break during the Manutd v Liverpool match but look what happened to John terry. At least we got lucky in terms of John Terry's appeal which I could never expected from the so called appeal panel whose members are always biased towards the FA and the refrees and as such very rarely a positive outcome can be expected.

As a Chelsea fan I am sad to see Stevie go. He was a first team regular when I started going to games when Hoddle was manager and he has been an almost constant presence for 20 years.

Loyalty is a rare commodity in football but Clarke was an exception and so despite being sad that he has gone I wish him Good luck.

This is great for West Ham and if Zola can sort out our leaky defence then maybe we could finish in the top ten again. We need a good season with fewer injured players. One other thing Zola and co could do is sale the deadwood ie quashie, boa morte, spector,Davenport plus a few more who if everyone was 100% would not get in the team that i am sure.
