What's Toseland doing?

Tech3 get rid of him, at the top level he's embarrassing!
***********************************************
Your a very brave man having a go at Toesland on here, did uou not know " HE CAN DO NO WRONG " or so it seems. I'm with you all the way, the mans not got it for Moto GP, better he either went back to WSB or tried his luck in The USA, sick to death of the BBC interviewing him after every race even when he is more or less last

He's British, on the British Broadcasting Corporation riding in MotoGP. Ofcourse they're going to interview him, just as DC & Button always get interviewed on ITV's F1 (inbetween all the Hamilton name drops) and the way England's footy manager always gets interviewed after their recent loss. They may not be getting the best result, but they're British and it's nice to hear their side of the story, I'd be more disappointed with the BBC if they didn't show Toseland after a race, regardless of where he came.

His recent form has been poor for whatever reason, but he's a rookie in the class after spending his entire career being groomed for Superbikes (rode for Castrol Honda in his teens in World Supersport) aswell as being Youngest ever World Superbike Champion, and collected his second title last year, so it's not as though the fella can't ride.

Plus he's on a satellite bike, rumoured to be 5 stages behind that of Rossi's, aswell as running on Michelin which are the least favoured tyre out there, just ask Dani & Rossi about that one, and to add where was Colin Edwards at Indy, his more experienced team-mate and Yamaha starlwart, surely his benchmark guide? He was only 15th at his home GP, hardly showing him up, and at the last US GP at Laguna Toseland was the 3rd Michelin bike home after Dovi & Hayden, in 9th place where apparently Michelin had taken the wrong tyres. And at Misano he was 6th with only Pedrosa & Lorenzo beating him, arguably the top 2 Michelin riders (at the time before Dani's switch to Bridgestone).

He's had some bad luck like at Brno where Edwards, Pedrosa & himself languished at the back, at Le Mans he & Dovi collided, and Donington he messed up, but he's had 4 top 6 finishes and is only a few points from the top 10, so the likes of Hayden, Elias, Nakano are easily in sight. And don't forget, he stuck it on the front row in his first ever MotoGP event at Qatar!

Thankfully he's been retained by Tech 3 for next season to give him a chance to simply learn the bike, tyres & tracks this season,, so hopefully that'll give him the chance to show his true worth. Hopefully Tech 3 will get all the updates for next season, and will have a competitive tyre package, and if he fails to deliver, then judge him and send him back to WSB.

Yet more constructive comments on 52 I see. You know each time you state go back to WSB I cannnot help but think WSB is a lesser spectacle. I see it more as a kick in the face to WSB than a smack in the chops for Toseland.

Funny thing is I'm not even that found of Toseland but I can appreciate what he has to offer. Armchair riders are the worse, ur entitled ur opinion but it's always the same thing. Guess you'll all be happy when Haga wins the WSB crown? Didn't see anyone slating him when he was in MotoGP or forever the bridesmaid in WSB. Again, I don't question the talent, you just won't find me kicking dirt in his face for it... ALL GREAT RIDERS!!!

It's been a bit of a strange year for consistancy in the championship. Everyone is yo-yoing. Elias has had a couple of good weeks but been no where for the start of the year. Edwards had a cracking start but has been right down the bottom end lately. Stoner has been lightening fast but cant finish a race. The only person who has been consistant is Rossi. He's had battles at the front with different riders most races.

I for one think Toseland has been pretty good. Granted he's not going to win the championship by any stretch, but who else other than the big three is going to be up there? I would say for the most part he has out qualified and out pointed Edwards (certainly in recent races), which is generally a good indicator when you consider how long Edwards has been in motogp.

nuts, That should read "fond".

With Nothell points on this. Funny how Edwards always come ups with the goods when the jobs on the line then disappears for the rest of the season, crickey he even throws away wins in sight of the line.

In fact if you take this rubbish much further then I guess you reckon McGuiness/Plater are poor riders too, what race would you like them to drop back to from the BSB events?

Of course - get rid of Toseland - he has not won everything in his first season.

Let's just have one race at the start of the season and anybody who is not in the top 5 of that race is then eliminated and we just race the top 5 all season. Prevent those irritating other teams from getting in the way at the start.

That would weed out all the bad riders, mind it would also have eliminated just about every great champion we ever had in the sport.

Didn't Stoner finish 8th in his first season in MotoGP and have a reputation for a crasher...

idiots.

you've got to put toselands result mainly down to tyres, and the weather, as he's had some very good results this season. more importantly, why dont the bbc get anybody to check these moto gp stories? ive seen rossi called "ross" and "tossi", its ridiculous, and how is he one point away from the championship? if theyre are right, i apologise, but he isnt, is he?

Enough about Toseland...why has it seemed to have gone unnoticed that Valentino Rossi made history on Sunday. He beat Agostini's record, 69 moto GP wins...that is a huge deal people...bigger than whether Toseland should go back to WSB. What...are you all dead at the mo???

coopni, agreed. From my viewpoint, yes, fantastic achievment but I wonder wether the Stoner not being fit, Pedrosa playing with his new tyres, Spies not getting a factory ride plus the weather spoiling a finish and without the knowledge of - "has it finished?" or "is it a result?". Well all that just kind of flattened the whole experience.

Despite Nickys early start, based upon tyre performances it only seemed a matter of time before Rossi caught him and given Stoner was the 2nd bridgestone and not fully fit it hardly seemed a race. I know this is grossly unfair and glosses over many a good battle through the field but it just seems to me it put a dampner on the whole thing!?
