Is Nakamura having a farewell party?Scottish Premier Celtic by Gibbonsthehoop (U13136313) 14 September 2008 With speculation of Nakamura leaving very strong it seems Mr. Set-piece is saying farewell. Ok, the mail is where i got this news but Nakamura always said he wanted his children to be brought up in Japan and said a move back to Marino's would be welcomed. So is this farewell to Naka? What are you fondest memories of him? And would you say in confidence that he is a celtic legend? Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

GretnaPat (U10740161) posted Sep 15, 2008 Definitely not a legend. Legend is a word that is banded about all too easily these days. Larsson legend? Most definitley. Naka? No. Good player though and his two free-kicks against Man Utd will live long in the memory. Seems like a nice guy too.

marcototti (U13348989) posted Sep 15, 2008 No way can Nakamura be considered a legend of Celtic Football Club. He is undoubtedly a decent player but is far too inconsistent, struggles to make his mark in a game, lacks pace, lacks strength and does not create as many opportunities as he used to do. Although his technical ability is axiomatic, he is not the type of rough and ready player (like Robson or Sutton) nor the majestically gifted (like Larsson and Moravcik) that us Celtic fans become attached to. To be described as a legend of Celtic takes a lot more time to achieve than 3 inconsistent years in Scotland. Compare him to Henrik Larsson, Paul McStay, Tommy Burns, the Lisbon Lions etc and you will see he pales in comparison.

QatarBhoy (U2366549) posted Sep 15, 2008 i'll miss Naka's obvious love for the club and his moments of sublime brilliance. unfortunately scottish football doesn't always favour flair players and in the physical games Naka can be sidelined or go AWOL. he's not a legend but he's scored some first-class goals in crucial matches - i think his screamer against Rangers last season was a pivotal moment in the season - and i would hope all Celts will wish him and his family well as he always seems like a nice straightforward guy and who could deny his wish for his kids to grow up in Japan. there's also something of a Naka legacy in terms of Celtic's popularity in Japan and the extra pull we can exert on signing quality players from Japan as a result - hopefully Mizuno will come through in good time.

MODS stole my user name. (U13160340) posted Sep 15, 2008 Well obviously the free kicks against Man Utd, one which put us into the last 16 and the wonder goal against rangers. His title winning free kick at Killie. A hat-trick against Dundee Utd and a screamer against St Mirren (i think) few seasons back. A bit inconsistant yes but probably as good as you'll get from a player because no good player will be at one club too long these days. Don't know about legend but great player that will be missed.
