With that pole position Sebastien Vettel has become the youngest ever driver to take a Formula One pole position, breaking the record held by Fernando Alonso since the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix.

Sebastien Vettel-21 years, 72 days
Fernando Alonso-21 years, 237 days

Bloody well done.

"It could be another great race with some great overtaking manoeuvers, people unexpectedly coming from the back to take the win and then have it taken away from them by the stewards. May the best man be awarded the win."

im a LH fan so dissapointed his 15th but he can win the race tommorow provided theres rain, by the way vettel was brilliant and had a chance to get on pole and took it nice to see other people getting on pole apart from the big 4.

I hope Hamilton can win in the face of adversity today, but wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari were allowed to paint a set of double yellows next to P15 and usher in the FIA approved clamping team.

another big strategic error on mclarens part, surprising since their normally conservative during qualifying..

after the misake on tyres he realy had one more window of opportunity to hook up a good lap, which he didnt do, and massa did.

tough break for hamilton, should have been mclaren 1-2, with massa not looking like he would ever improve from 6th even if hamilton was in the top 10 shoot out.

hope the race isn't spoiled by early pile-up at the back with raikkonen and hamlton being knocked out early.

so it rained and unlikely never-do-wells take the front grid positions - some people are celebrating that as if VETTELL has bagged the WDC title - BRILLIANT? - not if you've been watching f1

when the heavens stop crying, the big boys would re-establish their dominance

Monza would be a game changer as it would see MASSA, the presumptive champion, clean out HAMILTON and put an iron grip on the title hereon

It's qualifying days like this that really drive home the point about how it's the car, not the driver, that rules under normal circumstances.

How's this for a fun new championship:

Drivers race half the season in their own car, and then drive a different car in the other races, rotating through all the teams.

Watching some of the big names trying to score a vital point in their Force India race could be a lot of fun.
As well as giving a better idea on who is actually the best driver.

Im pleased for Vettel, and i know he has had good pace the last couple of grand prix but that doesn't make him the best driver, he still has alot to prove and he will over time. And Torro Rosso uses a Ferrari engine which is its main advantage.

A great result for Vettel, and well deseved. He`s definitely one of the most talented drivers in F1 these days. Hopefully he will get a shot at one of the big teams to give him a fair chance of realizing his potential.

When that is said, the experience he`s gaining now in a lesser team will be very valuable for him in the future.

And yes, I`m quite sure Vettel could stick it to both Hamilton, Massa, Raikkonen, Alonso and Kubica if he was driving for a more competitive team. He`s that good, kinda remindes me of a certain Ayrton Senna from time to time in the way he`s overdriving the car..
