Live - Scottish Premier League

SPL live

It's back to the Scottish Premier League after a wee rest for international duty - and Rangers and Kilmarnock meet at Ibrox in what is arguably the match of the day.

Rangers sit top and are on a high after their victory away to Old Firm rivals Celtic - but only sit top on goal difference from Jim Jefferies' visitors.

If those two share the spoils in Glasgow, that could leave the way open for Hearts to take over at the top should the Edinburgh side win away to bottom side Falkirk, who are still looking for their first points of the season after four games.

But reigning champions Celtic have the chance to join Rangers and Killie at the top - if only for a couple of hours - when they travel to Fir Park to take on Motherwell in the day's early kick-off.

Both sides will be hoping for a confidence boost with their European campaigns starting in midweek - Celtic in the Champions League and Motherwell in the Uefa Cup.

Elsewhere, Hibernian host Dundee United with both sides looking to put indifferent starts behind them as they seek to justify being among the favourites for third spot behind the Old Firm.

Aberdeen host a Hamilton Accies side looking to get their return to the top-flight back on track having followed two opening wins with successive defeats.

And Inverness Caley Thistle, who have made a promising start despite being many people's tips for a season struggling against relegation, host St Mirren, who are still seeking their first win.

Hibees should score a winner-they're the 3rd force in the SPL & only ones likely to challenge the Glasgow ugly duo.

Just no luck for United, but Sandaza missing so many good chances is painful.

Looking at the match stats, it seems Rangers are kicking our cultured footballing side off the park. 3 bookings and umpteen fouls must be unusual for a Rangers side at home.

Stupid penalty, then a lack of composure to get going again after it has cost us this match. I am very happy that we are actually attacking Rangers and worrying them instead of cowering in the corner like we used to do against the old firm

I agree Junglemanchild. The only way to beat the Old Firm is to attack them.

We can't be too disheartened though because this Rangers side is much improved from the side that lost to Kaunas. Celtic will be worried about coming to Rugby Park next week for sure.

I think we should just do the same against Celtic , dont let them pass about in the middle, challenge them and break quickly like today. The Celtic defence isnt that impressive...full backs are dodgy and the keeper makes a few mistakes. They will also have me there cheering lol so heres hoping :P
