Paralympics - day five

comment on the article

ParalympicsGB has started day five with another gold - the 22nd to be won by the team.

Matt Skelhon took the 10m air rifle title after scoring a perfect 600 in the opening six rounds, before adding another 104.9 to clinch the gold.

And with four British boats in the rowing finals, seven swimmers in the pool finals and more equestrian competition, the prospects of more medals looks strong.

Then of course there's the athletics where Dave Weir will be looking to put his 400m disappointment on Wednesday behind him as he goes in the 5,000m final.

Who are you backing to win medals on day five?

Congrats to Shelly and all the other competitors
Missed T54 800 David Weir qualifier, not on highlights, does he look better?

Regarding the race in which Shelly Woods received a Bronze this morning. This should NEVER have been re-run. After all, during every Grand National steeplechase I've ever seen there have always been horses who have unseated their riders, and the Grand National has NEVER been re-run because of that! Therefore the same argument should have applied here.

I watched the comments after David won his semi final for the 800m, he still isn't running at 100%. He was rather upset by the comments on this website.

This man is amazing and still racing through a virus! He is an inspiration to anyone, yes, I mean anyone! He has no excuses and is very hard on himself, simply because he knows what he is capable of doing, when fully fit!

I wish him speedy health and will definitely see him try and win the 800m.

Could not agree more regards the comments on performances by our athletes, very poor if people have been negative about the efforts put in by the likes of David Weir.He and our other athletes have made me feel very humble and very proud, well done all of you and I hope you enjoy your experience in China, outstanding efforts by you all.I'm an ex rugby player, wasn't much good at the olympic sports, but I can see the amount of effort thats going in and the "proffesionl" approach taken speaks volumes for your commitment.

Excellent news for David Weir - well done son. Sounds as though the Aussies were sporting in the end, well done them!

Aye, thank goodness - Kurt Fearnley did the right thing, good lad. There is an extremely spirited debate on Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson's blog regarding the topic, I hope Dave read that too, to know how much we are all behind him.
