Lars Jacobsen dislocated his shoulder whilst playing for Denmark against Portugal last night.Looks like a lengthy spell on the sidelines, befor he even kicks a ball!

Shame to hear the guy's injured before even making his debut.

With a dislocation it all depends on whether the joint has been weakened. Stephen Taylor dislocated his shoulder while playing for us a couple of season ago, and was back playing in a couple of weeks, but it came out twice more after that in quick succession which meant he had to go to hospital and get pins put in to hold it in place until it had healed properly, which meant a few months on the sidelines.

Well at least the people who were saying he wasn't even a decent player are keeping quiet. If he's good enough to play in a Denmark team against Portugal, with no games under his belt, he ain that bad is he? It makes the 1 year contract seem like astute business again, but hopefully he'll be back soon, and can put in some good performances.

Also don't assume neville will be in MF. He needs an op and Moyes my have been making sure Jacobson was up to it before risking being without Neville and Hibbert for a while.

Well, I blame Kenwright for this latest injury.

It must be his fault in some way!!!

Danish media has a story that Lars Jacobsen will be operated on today, and will have to wear a sling for 2-3 weeks before returning to fitness training like running and cycling. All in all he should be out for 12-17 weeks (!).

It's a shame. I'm an FC Copenhagen fan, and he played very well when he was with the club.

Liebgott, I'm sure you could have exaggerated a bit more.

Lars Jacobsen has had a further set-back to his recovery.

He fell down the stairs of his plush hotel accomodation in central Liverpool and crashed into a passing chamber maid.

Assuming he was making an unwanted play for her affections, Becky (22) slapped Lars hard around the face but more crucially kneed him hard in the groin.

It was a tackle that Joey Barton would have been impressed by, and yet a tackle that would have impressed nobody!

Lars, now a quivering wreck, was rushed to an unnamed private hospital, where emergency surgery was performed. Thankfully he now once again possesses the requisite number of items required to self-check for testicular cancer. Physically he is entirely intact.

However, it was a severe psychological blow, and Lars faces months of rehabilitation therapy. This may ot may not include encounters with young women dressed as chamber-maids in a bid to help him overcome his new-found phobia.

Lars is not expected to be named in Everton's UEFA Cup squad to face Standard Liege tomorrow.
