At the end of the day, if we concentrate on our home games (especially now that 2 of the away games are done & dusted) and get at least 10 out of 12 points, I think we'll get at least 2nd spot.

Scenario: Let's be conservative and say 10 points from possible 12 at home, add 3 gained already. Win in Norway, lose in Holland. That's 16 points. With Norway already dropped 2 points, Iceland only have 1, 2nd place is well within our reach.

Home form is key.

Dutchie here... I actually hope both Holland and Scotland go through. I think yesterday's result from Holland was good as every single qualification campaign we drop points against Eastern European teams when playing away. They can be tough, as Scotland found out on Saturday - but luckily there's only one of them this time!

Having said that, I do not have much confidence in this team at all. They may have played some really good matches at the Euros but I'm afraid it's now back to business as usual, so it's anyone's guess who will win the group. Good luck to you, hope Scotland finally make it to a tournament again, draw England and then eliminate them from the group stages. Haha!

Winning against Iceland (Big deal eh!?) doesn't disguise the fact that Scotland have an tactically inept,uninspiring and clueless manager in Burley.He is pub side manager and that will be the undoing of Scotland in trying to reach South Africa-that and playing two amateur clunkers like Miller and McFadden together in any side.

Agree with some other comments. Beating ICELAND should not be cause for getting too giddy. ICELAND would have trouble in English League One.

I'm just relieved that we bounced back from Saturday and got the three points.I am not thrilled with a 2-1 win over Iceland,but i'll take it.The next game against Norway in my opinion is the biggie win it and i think we're on our way to second place, lose or draw and i fear we're heading out.It was good to see Kirk Broadfoot do so well,bit of a gamble there by Burley.

Norway Game - 2-1 Scotland
Holland Game - 3-0 Holland
Iceland Game - 3-1 Scotland
So I reckon 6 Points out of 9, Norway will be a very tough test but if Scotland play with passion they should come out on top.
I'm sorry but Holland will be an impossible task for George Burley, the Dutch are strong in all areas of the field, Scotland havn't got the top class strikers to get past the strong Dutch defence, therefore, we will be gubbed, Iceland, as much as I respect them, are not going to be an impossible task for George Burley, however, if George Burley is to keep his job as Scotland boss he needs to make sure that we do not muck up against nations regarded inferiour to us in the Footballing world, if we lose to bigger teams it will be a disappointment but it will not get the nation calling for Burley's head, so when Macedonia come calling Burley, show them the passion of Scotland.

But we didn't have top class forwards last time we played Holland either. Neither did we have top class forwards against France yet we still won in those games.

There are no guarantees in football, we will slip up against smaller times when we shouldn't, just as the likes of France slipped up against last campaign when they shouldn't.

I'm hoping for six points out of the next three but what i think will happen is a different story.I'm sorry folks but we are not in form right now and i think we will struggle in the first home game against Norway to a 1-1 draw.We have no hope against the Dutch in Holland but i don't think we will get gubbed either so a 2-1 loss.I think we will give a much better showing against Iceland at home so i'll say a 3-0 win.I hope to be proven wrong but i think we will come out of the next three with only 4 points.

What do you think the average Scot would take? A tight group with Norway taking points of Holland meaning Scotland could win or come third, or a safe group where Norway are shocking and we get a play off spot? And dont tell me the Icemen are anything but awfull!
