Paralympics - day four

comment on the article

Well, another remarkable day in the velodrome for British Paralympic cycling.

Three more golds today means the team have won 12 of the 13 events they entered. A truly phenomenal achievement.

And in the pool, Heather Frederiksen broke the world record twice on the way to winning her 100m backstroke event.

Jon Fox added a backstroke silver while Sean Fraser and Louise Watkin won bronzes in their backstroke and breaststroke events respectively to boost GB's medal tally.

ParalympicsGB currently (1000 BST) sits top of the medal table with 19 golds, two ahead of China, with track finals to come this afternoon.

Let us know your thoughts on the action in Beijing.

Why the BBC have an interactive medal table as they did for the olympics? It would be much appreciated.

Hi,

The interactive medal table for the Olympics was provided for us by a third party, but unfortunately, this is not the case for the Paralympics.

We have to update it manually and do so several times a day.

If you want an automatically updated table, there is one here: http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRMP/ENG/INF/GL/95A/GL0000000.shtml

Hope this helps.

What a fantastic result! In cycling, the team only missed on a medal on 1 event and apart from one medal (Silver), the ones they won are all gold. Overall, Great Britain is SECOND on the medal table!!
Team GB are doing their country proud. Wonder if our Queen and country are as keen to honour these athletes as they are with the Olympic team.
I would like to think that their valuable input into this country's success is worth the same as the input from the able bodied athletes.

I have such amazing respect for these athletes; even though they don't enjoy the same media attention or hype of their able-bodied companions, these guys deserve it much more... the amount of mental strength required to overcome your handicap and win is truly commendable.

Very sad to discover Mr Weir wasn't at his peak today. Lets' hope he recovers fully after a good night's sleep.
