in the bag again. the man's unstoppable!

Eric Baumann (Sparkasse) taking second, with Francesco Chicchi (Liquigas) in third. (I think).

Next stage 3 streaming on www.universalsports.com is the timetrial - allegedly starting at 12.10pm in whatever timezone those guys are using (not one I can fathom out, but it doesn't appear to be full coverage so difficult to tell)! ToM's site times are even weirder!

Anyway, extrapolating from today - streaming started at 2.30pm in their Twilight time Zone which worked out at 20:30 in London, which I hope means Stage 3 stream starts at 18:10 London time tomorrow.

Another win, never looked in doubt, will lose the jersey tomorrow in the TT though.

His 16th win of the season and the 27th of his pro career. And he's only 23. Its pretty scary. Some great coverage of the Tour in US websites including vids and photos in the Missouri 'fanzone'.. http://www.tourofmissourifanzone.com/

I have to confess I enjoyed the one with the Podium women 'rehearsing'.. We in Europe can 'learn a lot' from the US approach to marketing cycling..!

Obviously great talent - time to finish a race and be something other than a "one note" racer

The commentary alone is testament to American genius for marketing. The tour of Missouri is essentially one, long straight road with alot of telegraph poles for scenery. No matter, there's money to be made. These guys chatter on for a couple of hours about all the finer points of energy gels and the sleeping habits of pro cyclists. It's fascinating stuff. Near the end you'll see Mark Cavendish sprint over the finish line in a yellow blurr, and that's that, but somehow the commentators have almost convinced you you just saw a really competitive race, and that Missouri is well worth the visit. I wish the Tour of Britain was this slick. As for Cavendish winning, I think he will win the tour, so long as there are no hills of any description because then he really does have a tantrum. I was amazed how he just gave up in the Tour of Ireland when he saw a big hill.

You summed up the coverage of the 6th stage of the Tour of Missouri paininspainaccount!

They chatted away about all kinds of things all day, including the storm weather for the final stage tomorrow, completely misread the break which never looked decisive, and then only finally spotted Cav with about 100 metres to go. A third stage win for Cavendish!

Was never likely he would actually win the tour because of the time trial etc. Plenty of other Team Columbia fire power putting on the pressure with both Roger and Hincapie in the top 5 for the General Classification. But after being disappointed yesterday with 4th in the sprint Cav sure made up for it today! Comfortably stays in green for the sprints/points competition.

If he keeps on this form then maybe he will make it to Varese. BBC reported a while back that he was not going to decide until after Missouri...
