Poyet

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur

If

Poyet goes to Newcastle could be an expedient to plot our downfall as Carling Cup holders in the next round. Who better?

On a more serious note Gus following Keane and to a lesser extent Berbaloss out the door would be a bad portend. Who next: Bale and Modric next summer or January?

Should not be too difficult to pick up another interpreter..

Agree entirely, I could do the job for a lot less.

On a slightly different note, have just read that Levy is considering Comolli's position. If we're going to continue the Continental approach, we have to get a quality reconised man - he is after all as important as the head coach IMO.

Poyet coming to Newcastle, the phrase "lead balloon" springs to mind.
Actually make that "lead balloon with Mike Ashley in the basket"
But I digress. As a fan I wouldn't mind him as manager - as long as he and Wise have the right impact. (a lot of rumours that Wise wants us to sell Owen, for example. That is not what I want). Apparently at Leeds they worked very well together (McAllister did alright without both of them of course)

Poyets appointment would only have made Ashleys reputation even worse, employing a friend of Dennis Wise would NOT have gone down well with the Toon Army.

I don't think this would be a good move for Gus or Newcastle. Newcastle need a more proven high level management team than Wise and Poyet and from Gus's point of view, that place is like a Elephants graveyard for careers (playing or managing).

Sounds like he is going to Newcastle from what he said "All i intend to do is relax and enjoy me job" - yep he's going, or at least WANTS to.

No loss to me - this is the thing - THERES NO SUCH THING AS AN IRREPLACEABLE PLAYER OR MANAGER. It's always evolving. Just watch, Man U won't suddenly get relegated when Fergie retires.

What is more disturbing about this article is the comment that Dennis Wise is searching for a replacement for Kevin Keegan. Let's get this straight... Wise is a cockney with no north east connections. He lives in London and his job is to find players and managers for Newcastle. Is there something wrong with this picture? Get rid of Wise now, and his fat boss Ashley should sell up and move on. Ashley has very badly misread the fans and obviously does not have the requisite skills to steer Newcastle in any direction never mind the right one.

I was never concerned with the specualtion of Poyet going to toon, my friend's younger brother is best friends with poyet's son, and poyet's son told him that he never intended to leave spurs

I'm pleased we're not getting Poyet cos he's scored more goals past Newcastle than Wayne Rooney's had pies!!!
