Put your questions to Jeremy Guscott

comment on the article

Hello,

Bath, England and Lions legend Jeremy Guscott will be writing a regular column for us this season.

He kicked it off last week with this look ahead to the new season
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rug...

But he's keen to hear your views on the rugby world and respond to your comments so if there is a question you'd like to put to him about this weekend's opening round of action or his expectations for the season then this is the place to do it.

Whether it is Wasps' low-key start to the post-Dallaglio era or Gloucester's failure to beat Leicester, Jeremy is sure to have an opinion on it.

I will be speaking to Jeremy at about 1800 BST on Tuesday and will put the best of the questions and comments to him, so please try to get your replies in before then.

We're planning to make this a regular part of our rugby union coverage this season, so keep those questions coming in.

jeremy, Of New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, who do you think England have the best chance of beating in the AIs and why?

JG - What do Bath have to do to get the go ahead for developing the ground - it is desperately needed if we are to keep up with Tigers/Glaws.

+ Did you ever get to outdrink the Funbus on tour, on the Guinness front....

Thanks for all your questions.

I have picked out a few of the best and put them to Jeremy, and you will be able to read his answers on Wednesday.

But keep the comments coming throughout the season, because Jeremy is very keen to get involved.

dont know if he'll be so keen once he reads the "real" questions we want to know the answers to.

What I want to know is why there is so much fuss about a player who spent the last season facing inferior opposition and so little fuss about David Paice, who was doing the job in the Premiership. I think there should be a much bigger fight over the shirt than Jeremy seems to think.

Jerry obviously missed Hartley getting bounced by Lutui as he scored Worcester's try?

Jeremy - as a LI fan disappointing that you failed to make any mention of how well our team played for an hour in beating Wasps! MC to the fore no less and I share DrD'd views about Paicey being a runner in the competion for the No 2 jersey. Bulldog's comment is highly pertinent!

Hey Jeremy, good points about Dylan Hartley's enthusiasm. He is quality, but i think the enthusiasm for that try may have come more from the dump tackle he received moments earlier! Always a good way to fire anyone up!

I agree with Jeremy in saying that Dylan Hartley is a good player and should be England's first choice for the no 2 jersey in the coming AI's. However, though he showed strength to score his try in the match against Worcester, it was 3 backs he got past to score, would he have got there if he had been faced with 3 forwards? Maybe, but he probably would have had to work harder to get his reward.
Also, opposition hookers will see how easily Lutui ran through Hartley for Worcester's try and take confidence from that, possibly meaning bad news for England during the AI's.
Hartley is a great hope for the future of England and hopefully he will show what he can do throughout the AI's and help lead England forward.

At some point England have to be brave and start picking and using players with genuine talent and potential - can't turn potential into actual by watching games. Enough pussy-footing around, let's pick players like Hartley and give them a run. No point picking good old reliable's and hoping they'll suddenly find another gear or three so they can make an impact at international level. The premiership is short on skill we should grab any player that has the potential to make it and work with him on a one-to-one basis.

And are really telling me that Hartely is the only hooker to have missed a tackle recently????
