25 second penalty, correct me if i'm wrong but raikkonen didn't finish so there was no advantage ultimately. Also according to VMM Charlie Whiting said it was legitmate, if whiting said no then hamilton could have waited to overtake Raikkonen. Alot of people are saying Hamilton had momentum despite the cutting of the chicane but Hamilton said Rakkonen was breaking earlier than him(this was noticed while reeling Raikkonen in) and the manoeuvre may have been down to outbreaking. However only the telementry can give a conclusive verdict so maybe that's why the FIA took so long.

Shouldn't Rosberg get a penalty for dangerous driving considering he almost caused hamilton to crash.

I'm considering a boycott of the remaining races considering as it is now obvious only a ferrari can win the WDC and the WCC.

Watch the incident again if you want and decide for yourself

Watching the race live, I was not sure whether hamilton did relinquish the adavantage he gained after cutting the chicane. After watching this clip

I think LH did gain advantage and I dont think he even thought about giving Raikkonen his place back. Listen to his engine!!! It is only fair that he was penalised, a warning to other drivers as well

I cant see the decision being turned over, so maybe its time to move on and look forward to Hamilton being penalised some more and losing the championship in the last few races like last year again? :P

Or on the bright side, he might win :D We shall have to see.

Nikki Lauda was the bad boy when Hunt was attempting his challenge. Then it was the drivers who rightly influenced what was then a sport. Now it is quite clearly the track officials who quite clearly don't know what Sport is.

Many now believe that the future of F1 has been sadly compromised by this latest off the track judgement which lacks any relation to the rules of sport as it simply does'nt take into its reasoning the fact that both drivers lost control and therefore the outcome for both drivers was a 'Sporting Chance'.

I feel bound to say I do feel that Ferrari have too much say (like ManU in the premiership with the fewest of penalties awarded against them) And as Bernie Ecclestone said in Monaco last year the sooner we are rid of Hamiton the better, why probably because he challenges the F1 establishment.

Doubt if i'll watch any more races this season.

Oifa - if a driver relinquishes the position after gaining an advantage, there is no penalty.

Or do you penalise EVERY driver who misses a craking point and cuts a corner EVERY time. It would turn into a farce.

You have to be subjective about the whole thing

A ridiculous decision by the FIA. Raikkonen forced Hamilton wide, so he had no choice. He clearly gave back the place, and Charlie Whiting (racing director) confirmed to McLaren TWICE that he had no issues.

I truly hope that Hamilton wins this championship, and Kubica beats the Ferraris in the rest of the races to beat them.

Thanks BBC for deleting my last post which was at best, mildly sarcastic.
To sum up my opinions, why even bother racing, when ultimately, someone behind closed doors dictates what they think the result should be, sounds incredibly like the censorship here on 606! Only the posts which the BBC editorial team want seen are posted, to hell with public opinion.

BBC message boards, where everyone can read the censored Internet at it worst!

Why would Maclaren ask whiting twice for a ruling? Does that not tell you something?
Hamilton did not give up his place; he forced RK off the race line and took full advantage thereafter. it is a no brainer and i am a maclaren fan who absolutely hates Ferrari

Hmm here is a person (sean1) who does not believe that there are any politics in sport. So I'm the one who needs to get real?
