Did anyone go to the match or was in on Setanta? Did Walker actually score now or what?

It was Bowe according to the commentary, i know i was listening to it online.

Only 829 went to the game which is pathetic even by connaghts standards

Attendence was 1600 according to BBC although that does feel like a too 'round' a number.

So why was it on a Friday night 6:30 KO? No TV to arrange the day and time surely it would have been better to have kicked off 3pm on Saturday? AHHHHH but then the TV want to show the Blues game on Tuesday dont they so even when they're not interested they are.
I'm not surprised the radio and newspaper reporters got the try scorer mixed up, I've seen it so many times especially when the wingers swop positions as they do. The WM the official font of all knowledge says it was Walker.

Osprey, This is what I have been banging on about ALL year. Fridays and Sunday night rugby should be banned. Just suits the TV people. Not the fans. Ah well, slaves to the coporate rhythm - I spose. sadface

Its impossible to follow Connacht unless you live in Galway. The Connacht branch in their wisdom think by playing the game at 6:30 on a Friday evening that they will get the crowd that goes to the greyhounds slso.

I get to all of the Connacht games that I can but it is impossible to get to a game on a Friday evening that has a 6:30 kick off.

If you live in Athlone you are 1 & a half hours from Galway & that doesn't include Friday evening trafic. If you are from Sligo it is an extra half an hour or so & the traffic also means it is impossible to get to the game. Supporters have appealed to the Connachgt branch to change the kick off time of the game to a Saturday afternoon when people would get a chance to go to the game.

Connacht Rugby is growing unfortunately unless you live in Galway it is almost imposible to hold down a job & go to their games.

As for the match last night, heard Ospreys were the better team but that Connacht did ok.

i was there and i can confirm that the try was definately scored by walker from a smart little hook chip! pity that they kept shane williams on the bench for the whole match but a comfortable start to the magners league for the ospreys! better away record than last year already.

off the topic but this was the first time that connacht lost the first match of their magners league campaign since 2001!
