Former greats...

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur

I see that there is a feature on former greats on the Spurs website.

Here's the link:

The question I have for Spurs fans is whether Berbatov and/or Keane will be considered 'former greats' in years to come. They did well while they were with Spurs but the way in which they left has left a sour taste in the mouths on many.

Thoughts???

Keane was never a legend and his chances of being a great disappeared with him. Berbatoff had the opportunities but spurned it for immediacy.

So in answer to your question neither through their own doings.

keane could have become a great but left had berbatov stayed for 2 more seasons i feel he would have become a great as our team would be based around him and modric and we would have been explosive possibly winning a couple of trophies or breaking the top 4.

neither is considered a great or will be considered a great for spurs but berbatov will be considered a great player.

for me berbatov is one of the few remaining players who can play with natural magic in the game today there are too many players who force the magic. most players today dont have the spark that players like zidane, bergkamp, henry(at arsenal), G.best. these players are legends, true greats and are all household names not only that but they were true gentlemen as well not like the flashy pre madonnas of today.

keane definitely for me. 100 spurs goals. very sad the way he dumped us, buti don't agree with southgate: "keane could have become a great but left"

disappointing that he left in that manner at that time but he was here a long time by modern standards. IMO already a spurs legend.

berbatov - F.O. great ability sure, but spurs legend, no way.

Son of - I definitely don't consider Notso a legend (see Stoty's names above) and the way he left he's missed out even being a "great" IMO. Before Berba came he hardly set WHL alight and struggled to seal his place against Defoe. Lucky for him people have forgotten his own strops.

Notso? i can't be bothered to look up Stoty's comment, but if you think Keane was not so keen on spurs, then you're a mug. he played with passion.

defoe was a decent striker in spells and there's no shame in not eclipsing him, however keane really did eclipse him when a player arrived who he had a telepathic relationship with.

robbie's a legend for me and i believe in time many of you will coem round to that opinion (you all believed it before he left)
