Rooney is absolutely vital. I understand that most people dont get that just because u dont score the most goals, doesnt detract from ur contribution. Where do u think that most of ronaldo's goals came from last season. Rooney was the creator.

Face the simple facts at this moment of time tevez is head an shoulders above rooney, which lives him nowhere but on the bench, you can't bench berba because he needs a chance to prove his worth. wums can come after this comment an say rooney this or that, but simple fact is you know it i know it, his not performing to manchester united (english and european champions), standard.

Right now Tevez is much better than Rooney. Benching the latter would do him a world of good, he needs to shed a few pounds and improve his game. And to think he was your best player (and my favourite) during the 05-06 season!

Agree, i also feel this will benefit wayne, once a player knows theys are not untouchable they have to give everything in every game and will see a better Rooney.

This tirade and anti-Rooney sentiment is boring and exposes a deep, sinister and reoccurring problem with English football supporters. It’s from one extreme to another. Rooney is a phenomenon and an inspiration talent. The fact he is being denigrated and penalized for ne real credible reason is disturbing. He the most single most important player at United. When he performs at his best, he is the BEST. United players know it, England players know it.

Steven Gerrard once remarked that when Rooney plays his best, everybody else just watches. They become fans themselves. Indeed, he said the same about Scholes.

For those who hold Rooney responsible for England’s misfortunes, settle down and accept it was down to a poor collective team. Rooney is exceptional and remains the most important player for both England and United.
