South Africa striker Benni McCarthy has hit out at Paul Ince, his club manager at Blackburn Rovers, claiming that his troubles began when Ince arrived and resigning himself to a bit-part role for Rovers this season.

He's going mad Roberts is keeping him out of the team.

He has, he's gained a spare tire round the waist. Looks like a right little porker now.

When you point the finger at someone else, you have three fingers pointing back at you.

Benni needs to grow up and start contributing asap!

I knew when Sunderland were interested we should of got rid.

Give Derbs more responsibilty, and even tho I dont like him, kept Gally and had him on the bench each game

To be honest, I'm not sure I beleive this story. I mean, do the following words really sound like a 'spokesman for Rovers'::

McCarthy is overweight and not match-fit, "and that is basically why he has not been in the Premiership line-ups this season."

I think it's probably a nothing story.

Only criticism of Ince I have is that if we were offered £8M for him why the hell did we not sell him.

The only ctiteria at Rovers, to keep the fans onside, is that a person gives 100%. He gives about 50% which is OK if he is banging in 20 goals a season but is distinctly not OK when all he is banging in appears to be transfer requests (whether through the media or officially).

At 40K a week his attitude stinks.

To be fair to Ince why would he sell Benni? We've seen from his first season that the guy is capable of being one of the premierships top scorers. He might be a little overweight and he might have had a poor season but he now has something to prove. 8 million would not be enough to replace an in form Benni.

with Benni's skills laying dormant it shouldn't take a lot of effort to re-ignite them and put Roberts back on the bench,it just takes effort rather than words.

If there was no competition for places, McCarthy would become complacent and fat... oh he has!

Hopefully that'll soon change now that he knows he's not going to automatically get picked.
