I was/am a Curbs supporter. I liked the guy. I never wanted him gone. He was one of ours and would have (IMO) taken us forward season after season.
But that is my opinion and that is now dead and buried. Its history.

I don't really want to get caught up in all the speculation about who will or who won't come in as our new manager.
I will of course have (and voice) my opinions.

But, whoever takes the helm of our great club will have my total and unconditional support.

OK Mr BG, its over to you.
Please get us the right guy to take us forward. We are all behind you on this.

Take your time and get it right ..............

Hi BRENT. I wanted Curbs to be given at the very least this season to sort things out and get a squad playing but he had the rug pulled from under him. I will of course support the club whatever happens, but the board are very much on probation as far as I'm concerned, there'll be no cheering in that direction from me.

That would have been fair enough.
We want to progress every season.

If we hadn't made progress after a full season, without the injuries, I would have said fair enough Curbs.
You did a good job but it seems you can't take us any further.
Thank you.

I think he did deserve at least that as, we had made progress under Curbs.

But as I said, its not to be so, onwards and upwards.

It's a real shame Curbs didn't get a chance to prove what he could do this season, especially with some of his signings coming back from injury. That's history now, time to move on.

There are huge communication problems at the club - there seemed to be confusion about what Curbs job involved. If the owners have their own ideas on how the club should be run they need to make them clear to the next manager and not go back on their word. If they don't want the new manager to have any say in ingoing/outgoing transfers and just want them to coach - fine. They should at least have the decency to tell them before they take the job....otherwise the club will never have any continuity.

One of ours? Why because he played for us and supports us, shall we get Tony Gale in then? Tony Cottee anyone? He was taking us nowhere fast. All he has is his dignity tbh.

Mancini or Bilic would be miles ahead although Zola/Fat Sam would be a step sideways.

Brentwood - always good to read your common sense articles and comments on this site. My lads and I particularly enjoyed your stadium visit review(s) in the summer. (Summer?) I was sad to see Curbs walk but not entirely surprised (see comments elsewhere) and think we should be giving this Board a chance. Clearly the Magnusson era didn't work and I can't fault an awful lot of what I've read about and heard from them. I think they need to improve their communication and need a credible voice to help them get their message across to the fans. I suggest you apply immediately - in the mean time, keep those articles coming...

Iron Man....

I don't think Curbs would have taken West Ham nowhere fast if he was given time and space to do his job. I think there would have been progress but we'll never know if it would've met the "5-year plan" we keep hearing about.

But I agree with you on the "one of ours" point. I think the club needs to move away from this way of thinking - it's a bit insular to me. Favouring former players or anyone with a connection to the club is an age-old idea that will only hold the club back.
