Rio injured. A chance for Upson?

Rio is still suffering with an injury and is yet to train with the England team. Supposedly, although you wouldn't know it by reading the press this week, england are playing on saturday.

Unfortunately, should, Upson get the nod if Rio fails to be fit in time, i shall not be abale to watch teh game as it is on Setanta, and no other channel has the rights to show the Highlights.

in a time when fan support for the national team is... apathetic at best, why did the FA see fit to allow the rights for the game to be in the possession of a single broadcaster, who probably has a minority share of the digital TV sports subscriptions.

I posted about this earlier in the week. Having contacted the FA about this matter, i have had no reply. yet another case of the fans being put second behind money!

Because Seatnta were the highest bidder, and to be fair they do give better VFM than Sky in that Setanta is FREE!
PS - I have itand the coverage is pretty good. Can't understand the no highlights thing though...

No, Upson is not a god centre-back.

Surely it has to be Jonny Woodgate, a consistant defender, and a true England lion.

Woodgate isn't in the squad though, but I agree he would have been the best option. Even if he is chief spur.

How is Setanta free ?
I pay for it monthly so, maybe you know something that I don't. Either that or, you have cable TV maybe ?

i press the red button on my telly, and the screen goes black. i wish i could go to the pub but i have the shackles on this weekend, hence my annoyance at the lack of highlights.
