On this awfully wet morning........

When i did a roofers roll over, the rain triggered a memory of the isle of man a few months ago.
I was in the casino playing roulette when a very smartly dressed fifty something gentleman took his possition at the side of me,asked for Ł3000 of Ł100 chips then sprinkled them over the table like confetti.
On the number 32 he put one chip the nose and two on splits at the side.
Number 32 came in and everyone at the table gasped.I tried to do the calculation as to his winnings which he saw in my eyes and tilted his head my way and said as if it where nothing, 7k.
He then very casually walked over to his glamorous jewel encrusted wife,whispered something in her ear to which she gave a wry grin.
On returning to the table i could not help myself as to ask"Promised her a new dress have you !"to which he replied"I've just told her her knickers are coming down".
I liked him alot and it got me to thinking could he be eddie davies?.would it not be great to sit down and have a beer whith him and chat football for an hour.When i got home i googled eddie davies and wikkiwhatsited it but found nothing,anyone out there got a picture of the guy,anyone met him?Or has he pulled off one of the best incognito gigs of all time.

There are loads of people on the Isle of Man with kind of money... Chances are that it wasn't him, but I'd love to sit down with him and chat football for an hour, I'd also love the chance to shake his hand and thank him for what he has done for our club.....

That guy was telling porkies about his winnings by the way... I think his winning would have only been Ł6,900 with Ł300 worth of chips left in play!!

If it WAS Eddie Davies, you'd be lucky if he knew enough about football to chat for a minute, never mind an hour
