Our Investers

Premier League Bolton Wanderers

Not done an article for a little while, so I thought I'd come back with some debate, especially on what has happened at a certain North West club over the last 5 days.

Ok, Phillip Gartside. Considered from many as a complete waste of time, there has been plenty of fan protests. I'm not fully aware of the whole board here at Bolton Wanderers, and if they fund anything at all. (that's something I will look into!). But, it has occured quite obviously that we have poor, un-abitious investers. Manchester City have shown the rest of the clubs outside the "big four" that there is hope for substancial financial support. There has been a recent post from Madnotlobian ( www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A40583... ) about a take-over, I don't know myself if it's true or not, but that is for another time. So, now I get to my whole point of my article.

Would Bolton improve with financial support? Will the fans feel the burn in their wallets/purses? Will we ever get rid of Ricardo Vaz Te? Haha.

PS - Feels good to be back on the boards after a mini break.

I've mentioned on numerous occaisions that the main man is Eddie Davis and he owns 95% of Bolton Wanderers.
There is no chance whatsoever of us being taken over unless the guy wants to sell and as he is a retired, very rich, limetime fan of the whites, I personally see that as being very unlikely.
If all other shareholders, including myself, got together & put our shares on e-bay, we could only muster 4.9%, no where near enough for an ownership change.
If Eddie sold 40% of his shares to raise some capitol, he would still be in total control.
So unless Eddie decides he needs another retirement hobby other than Bolton, we've got him for years to come.

You lost me there abit im afriad mate as Gartside despite his critisim brought sam, brought some of the greatest players to ever wear a bolton shirt and helped bring sustained top 8 finishes.
As RB explained Eddie Davies is the owner and it is ultimatly his choice whether to sell up or not.
Gartside is the chairman, i.e chelsea roman abrahmovic is the owner, bruce buck is the chairman, newcastle owner is mike ashley, the chairman is chris mort.
The chairman being the handler of the owner's money, the man who makes the decisions how to use the money etc.(well in theory, im not quite sure the hiararchy will work quite the same at places where billionares own the clubs, on numerous occasions the owner (use abrahmovic for example, has implored on the chairman and the manager players he wants to buy-ie andrey shevchenko)

Oh and Madnotlobian's post was a joke.

Gartside is Eddies general manager and spokesperson.
He only took a 45k salary last year from Burnden Leisure PLC but earns a big wedge through charging Bolton for professional services through Arley Partenership LLC of which "he is a member" so to say which was 117.2k last financial year.
Can't wait for this years copy of the books to see how much Eddie has put in as Directors loans like he claims he has. Last year it stood at 400k.

Wish people would stop having a go at Ricardo Vaz Te, he is one of our longest serving players, that shows loyalty at least.. He has been with us since 2003 and is only 21. I personally think at the moment that it is better to keep him at the club with Smolarek an unknown force in the Premier League, Elmander injured and could get injured at any time and as yet unproven apart from 90 mins of Prem action..... Kevin Davies is not and never has been or ever will be a prolific goalscorer..... and Heidar who seems like he could get injured off an out of date Malteser.....

Hopefully we wont need Vaz Te and Elmander, Smolarek and Davies will do the business, with Heidar ready to step in when needed.....

But I think we should keep him just in case.... I'll certainly never forget him for the goal he got against Guimaraes (a goal which I think I have never celebrated as much in my life - and i've seen a few)

I really think its last chance saloon for him, but i'd rather be with him than without him till January at least......

Rant over......

Hey everybody, Talib's is a Bolton asian clothes shop going back to the late seventies. Used to specialise in togs made from the cheapest fabric known to man.

There is no takeover, it's all a spoof!

I know that now.... Been speaking to my mate Dave who's brother is friends with a guy called Sanjay, who's sister works at the Talib in Preston... She says it's rubbish... But apparently says she has heard that Megson is in line for the West Ham job.... Which I found strange!!
