as a swansea fan i remember having a chairman/owner that cared little for the club and tried to manage the team. A certain tony petty. so i fully back plans for newcastle fans to boycot the hull game and i understand that there is no intention by the fans to damage the club or players reputation in doing this. But something needs to be done. Drastic times call for drastic measures and this is an example. GOOD ON YA MAGPIES FANS! DON'T LAY DOWN AND BE TRODDEN ON, LIKE WE DIDN'T WITH PETTY!

I have to agree with this comment. How can NUFC fans adore this man, when there's a bit of pressure, he throws his toys out of his pram. Wearing his heart on his sleeve isn't always a good thing. I do feel sorry for NUFC fans. They need somebody that will reward them with their teams results...It'll come but remember KK as a brilliant footballer NOT a manager.

The problem with Newcastle is most of their fans are keegan supporters before Newcastle United, and couldnt be seen in St.James Park before keegan arrived for his first stint at management. Keegan should of called it a day when he walked away the first time.

They should leave the club to get on with there job and see what happens the money the club has given managers in the past is more than most managers will see in there whole carreers. They can always follow KK to his next club and let some of our fans get back to support Newcastle the proper loyal Newcastle fans who got there noses pushed out by the King Kev Crew first time round.

Football has changed from the 80s and now the men who have all the money want to be a part of the decision making - and why shouldn't they?
donttellthemissus

Because half or more than half of them know dick all about football.

I know Im a Leeds fan but I come in peace, I know Newcastle is in a right mess and I think they should say bye to Wise before he says bye to them (Newcastle) since you'll be in a bigger mess then you are in know. Got Alan Shearer to be the new newcastle manager he knows what they are like and knows what they need to be like to become one of the great english teams again.

No manager with any integrity and empathy with the fans will apply for the job while the '3 Wise Monkeys' are in charge (ie Ashley, Wise and Llambiarse).

Sell up Ashley...you've broken your little toy, now sell it to some-one who can mend it and make it work the way it should.

From a football point of view it seems that despite Newcastle Utd having such fantastic fans home & away they have suffered so much due to the boardroom antics. Look at how Freddy Shepard went about departing company with SIR Bobby Robson, now look at how Mike Ashley has parted with Keegan?? Ashley is not a football fan, but the 52,000 geordies that attend every other wk are. Lets hope they get a new board and a good manager that can take the club 2 greater strengths. Good luck Toon.

This news is a week old. Why is it still a main feature on the premier league news page on the BBC web site?
