Tony Kelly

Premier League Bolton Wanderers
comment on the article

For anyone who hasn't seen or heard about Tony Kelly's new role at the club. He has been employed as the Fans Liaison Officer at The Reebok. Tony played 142 times for us in the early 90's and was voted 34th greatest player of all time to wear a Wanderers shirt!!(If anyone has a link to this poll, I would love to see it please). According to him....

"I'm going to be working with the fans to help get feedback for the club. For example, I'm going to start sitting with the fans in different areas of the stadium and if they have a problem, then they can come to me instead of the chairman or manager."

His new role is designed to help improve relations between the club and its valued supporters.

I'm just composing an e-mail to him now to ask if there is any chance he can use his influence to get an attacking midfielder, play more positive football at home and to reduce the prices of rollover hotdogs.....

If anyone is interested in his e-mail, its asktony@bwfc.co.uk

Nice one NOTLOB.... I sent a letter to Gartside ref this last year and got a call from the stadium catering manager.... To be honest, it has improved but that may be down to the fact that I moved from Lofthouse lower to lofthouse upper.... It used to take me 30 mins at least sometimes to get a pie and pint on lower...... Remember the freeforall at Burnden Park? They hadn't invented queues in those days!!

"Kev will replace Lampard in the England team "

As the team pie supplier cannot cope having them both in the same squad.

Hammers fans have already caught wind of it. I hear three already jumped into the Thames to call it a day.

Anybody who actually believes that TK actually writes his column himself would also presumably think that Jordan writes all those Katie Price books and that Wayne Rooney penned his autobiography all by himself.....

It's obviously a cheap attempt to get any dissenting fans back on board, by using a cult hero to be the face and voice of the club.

If Gartside came out and said "Stop pickin' on Nobby, he's a crackin' lad and he gets upset when you lot start questionin' why he's just cruisin' about with a big grin on his pan, not really doin' a lot" we'd be up in arms.

However, coming from TK, we're far more likely to take on board what's being said.

Or so the theory goes.....

You're spot on MMH.

Come on BWFC, we might be daft but we're not stupid....though you obviously think we are.

Giving advice to players with weight problems wouldn't appear to be an appropriate job for Tony Kelly.
