Rover-the-Top (U1751589) posted Sep 4, 2008 I think it's understandable that these club owners are taking an active part in transfer dealings - after all, I wouldn't give my own money to someone else to spend for me, and trust that I'd get what I want.

SambasBigBrother (U12169099) posted Sep 4, 2008 Should an owner who has no understanding of the football world, really be hands on for footballing matters though? Surely an owner appoints a 'football man' he trusts and then supports him. Rumblings for example, of Abramovich signing players or even hinting at who should play is crazy! Anyone agree???

bburnrover (U1779342) posted Sep 4, 2008 Yes I agree totally that is how you would expect it to work but if you look at it like Roverthetop you can understand it if it was your money being squandered.I personally would have sold Benni and Mokoena this summer if I owned BRFC.

Vinjay606 (U7834717) posted Sep 4, 2008 A lot of managers could have sued for unfair dismissal by now. Surprised none seem to have taken such action. Probably contractual clauses and the payoffs after being sacked prevent it.
