Constructive Dismissal ?

Blackburn Rovers

I have listened to and read different views on why both Keegan and Curbishley have had problems with their respective clubs and feel they both have a good case for constructive dismissal.

Curbishley has stated it and we know from TV interviews and actual events that the club sold players behind his back so why are the club now attempting to state that Curbishley lost it in the transfer market? Keegan's situation was apparently similar with one player being sold and another being offered for sale at the transfer deadline, both apparently behind the manager's back.

I feel this situation is going to get worse the more money is sloshing around because these owners cannot trust a single individual with all their finances as the Premiership has started to spiral out of control.

I think it's understandable that these club owners are taking an active part in transfer dealings - after all, I wouldn't give my own money to someone else to spend for me, and trust that I'd get what I want.

However, it's impractical - managers cannot be expected to build a working team unless they're the ones picking the pieces they can use. Strangely, it seems to be the managers taking the blame when these clubs fail to meet unrealistic targets and can't produce a winning side that plays total football.

Should an owner who has no understanding of the football world, really be hands on for footballing matters though? Surely an owner appoints a 'football man' he trusts and then supports him. Rumblings for example, of Abramovich signing players or even hinting at who should play is crazy! Anyone agree???

Yes I agree totally that is how you would expect it to work but if you look at it like Roverthetop you can understand it if it was your money being squandered.I personally would have sold Benni and Mokoena this summer if I owned BRFC.

A lot of managers could have sued for unfair dismissal by now. Surprised none seem to have taken such action. Probably contractual clauses and the payoffs after being sacked prevent it.

The pay-offs they get are far in excess of what they'd get in any tribunal.
