I have nothing but respect for Michael Vaughan and nothing would please more to see him back in the international set-up for England, but I really can't see it happening.

As you all know he was Englands most succesful captain and the most beautiful driver of the ball. I just want to know how many of you would like to see vaughany back at his best and scoring freely for England!

Michael vaughan was a great player but surely is pat his sell by date!!!! he struggles at county level when ever he plays! i really dont see the big man returning to international cricket even though it would be good.

Maybe Michael Vaughan should consider becoming a wicket keeper/batsman for Yorkshire, if he plays well maybe he could do what Alec Stewart did in the 90's and become sucessful.

....................

With his knees, I doubt it. (Or was that sarcasm?)

It would be wrong to bring Vaughan into the Test squad given his current form. Do I believe he has a Test future? Most definitely. I find the people slating him here to be utterly ridiculous. Every player has a slump in form. I think of Inzamam-ul-Haq a few years ago and Mark Waugh too. Everyone saw how much Vaughan put into England at his press conference. to expect him to come back and be merrily walloping centuries is overambitious.

I would give him the entire summer off. Let him spend time with his family and get his mind clear of all the stress. He will be back next summer in form and, if England are struggling with injury or if batsmen are out of form, I wouldn't hesitate to call on him against Australia above the like of Bopara, Denly etc.

He may possibly need an eye test. But also to put in in the words of one of MV's former
coaches he needs to stop playing like a 2 foot dwarf with half a bat - No offense to dwarf's but if you try to play outswinngers without moving your feet whilst presenting only the outside half of the bat to the ball you aren't going to bat for very long in any form of cricket and at the moment MV isn't batting very long.

No, he shouldn't go this winter.

He is a great player and definately has a test future to look forward to. But now is too soon.

Too soon for him as a batsman, he needs to score consistently well for 10-12 matches first at least.

Too soon for him as a man, he was put over the coals with (and by) England, he needs some time away from that to purge himself.

Too soon for the team, they need time to readjust toa new captain and having the old one there could complicate matters in the short term.

Overall Vaughan should keep his head down, finish the season, then either have a break or go abroad to get in some further cricket during the winter. Come back next season, do well in the opening few months and look to get back involved for the Sri Lanka tour next summer (the one before the ashes)

If Yorkshire do not want him, I would have him at Sussex, he is struggling at the moment but has another 3 or so season in him at County Level, and if he gets his head right he could score heavily. He will never play for England agaions.

I think the best thing for Vaughan and Yorkshire would be to make him Yorkshire captain next year. The England selectors clearly do not like picking past players despite current form, players such as Mark Ramprakash, Rob Key, Matthew Hoggard, James Foster. And with Darren Gough retiring at the end of this season he would be the ideal replacement. Vaughany you've had a great knock for England, but it's time to hang up the three lions cap and enjoy you're remaining cricketing years with the white rose.

Vaughan will not play for England in the foreseeable future if at all.He was a good player and did his bit but you cannot go on forever. He is the past and plays a different game to the current team.KP cannot afford to have Vaughan,Strauss or Ambrose in his side and they wont be.Cricket has moved on and those players regretfully represent indifference and recent failure.

England shouldnt have given him a contract, its very unlikely he will find his form in my opinion. Why have him when you can have a Bopara,Shah or someone fresher up the order.
