The screen is a get out for the referees time and time again we see referees stood yards away from the try only to pass it up to the video ref the best idea for the screens is to bring in the aussie rule of "refs call" when it is unclear by the screen this puts the decision back to the ref

At last!!!!
Even without the big screen, this means that fans & players alike will get an even stage. Its ridiculous that only TV games get the eye in the sky as this puts non TV games at a disadvantage. Fully agree also with the "ref's Call" to stop refs from copping out of making some decisions.

Level playing field for all, about time. If the video is not conclusive then yes I agree it has to be given back to the Ref for his call.

Are there enough refs to cover all these games?

If not, I will happily volunteer to be video ref for the Saints games...

i would do away with the 'benefit of the doubt' too....its either a decisively clear score or it isnt. When points go on the board thats decisive action, the decision making behind it should be too.

With the standard of some of the referees the screen will need to be even bigeer for them to get some of the decisions correct. I know it is a hard game to ref and it is getting faster every season so anything that can help the referee can only be good.

Before anyone starts on about me whinging because I am a Wakey fan - I have been to many games this season (not involving the Wildcats) and seen lots of wrong decisions that have cost teams matches - whether it be Saints, Leeds or Hull - whoever, I have also seen Wakefield gain unfair advantage through wrong decisions.

I tink it will be good for the refs, players and fans - bring it on!

I think it's certainly a step in the right direction, although as other people have said, will it make the referees on the pitch even less independent and likely to pass even more decisions onto the video ref. Although as people say a 'ref's call' could help avoid this.

If we had some decent referees it would help. The linesmen should be more involved. Even the video ref's struggle with some obvious calls. But then they will because they are all from the same fold..
