Still there, thx smiley

Looking at it he gets going and then looks laboured, and that's running 9.72. Compare Bolt who looks as though given enough track he'd get airborne.

The 100 is an endurance event, and maybe Powell hasn't got enough to do justice to his speed. As he says it would hurt him doing rounds and may be a weakness when nerves come into play. I don't think he's a choker btw, he's been running big races all his life.

AS good as Bolt looked in Beijing I just get the feeling that Powell will eventually end up with the quickest time at the end of their careers. Sure Bolt is only 22 and has many years of running to improve but Powell is just 25 and has a few years left as well.
Bolt will end up with many more medals though.

"Isn't Powell, Bolt and Gay running against eachother in the 100m in Brussels on friday? If they are I hope its on tv."
I have just read that they expect a downpour so in that case my money would be on Powell. As seen in Gateshead and last weekend Powell can run way below 10 seconds even in adverse conditions.

"Because he can't handle the pressure.
Jamaicans are good at handling pressure...they just don't feel it.

Did you just contradict yourself in less than 18 words? Impressive

Powell is Jamaican as well you know"

Yes, I do know he's Jamaican. What I meant was "Because he can't handle the pressure.
Jamaicans are USUALLY good at handling pressure...they just don't feel it.

Good that you can count though!

Ithink within a coupel of year, Powell and Gay will join Bolt in the 9.6 club but Bolt will probably be aiming for the 9.5 or even 9.4 club with max wind behind him.

If as some are claiming that Asafa Powell is a 'choker' than it would have been impossible for him to have held the World Record. You have to be ruthless to be the fastest man in the world, Powell has proved he is no choker with his ownership of the title of fastest runner ever.

Choking is all about being the best on paper or when the pressure is not on - eg grand prix meetbut then failing at the big event ie olympics, world champs - just like allblacks - best on paper always fail in the world cup
