News saying that the signing of Italian striker David Di Michele from Torino and Congo Left back Herita Llunga from Toulouse! Di Michele, 32, and Llunga, 26 have arrived on season long loans! West ham can also comfirm that we are in talks with Steven Appiah who is a free agent so the transfer could be comfirmed outside the transfer window!

Ive been moaning about having no left back but this could prove to be decent buisness as we need a left back and another striker! Appiah would be a good signing too!

what you think?

Meh.. always good to bolster your squad for free, that's all this is probably, Appiah would be good though.

appiah will be great addition. like essien (not as fit and strong but much smarter).
as much as i defend italian players i think di michele will flop in england as his attitude and workrate is poor and he is not all that anyway (he is only cover for ashton and bellamy)
i dont know anything about llunga though but he is a loan signing so financially he could be a very good signing. it is good to see west ham being careful with there money. getting rid of the injured ljungberg cost them a further 5 or 6 million. they have a squad strong enough for mid table, behind the top 4, tottenham, villa, everton, city, blackburn and portsmouth.

If these signings are allowed to go ahead, then why don't we just completely throw the transfer window away?
Its bad enough that they got away with being crooked over the Mascherano and Tevez deals, are they trying to do it again?!!?

Er Benjani to Man City and defoe to Portsmouth last year..didn't that go through after the window shut..where's the problem?

As for Robinho to Man City wait until January when it will be Robinho to Chelsea!!!!

Last year West Ham had the 2nd highest number of English born players regularly playing in the premiership. We used to pride ourselves on bringing our own youngsters through, Joe Cole, The Ferdinands, Lampard, etc now we have gone the way of everybody else with the exception that most people have never heard of our signings. I have never previously criticised Curbishley and as a supporter since 1963 I actually watched him play for West Ham, but after watching the team ride their luck against Wigan after a good start and then the Man City thrashing, made worse by the sending on of Boa Morte, one of the worst signings ever. The result against Blackburn again was very flattering and a draw looked more likely before the final 5 minutes of injury time.

Theoretically, Di Michele should be a good signing. He's a versatile attacker, can play in the hole, on the wing or as an out-and-out striker, reminiscent of Del Piero in some ways. He's been at a few clubs, but he's been fairly successful (anyone who watched Udinese in 04/05 will remember his partnership with Iaquinta and Di Natale as being fairly formidable), even playing in the Champions League. With the right manager and the right partner (Ashton and Di Michele could work very well, as Ashton is similar to Di Michele's old partner at Udinese), he could be a good signing.

Knowing Curbishley though, Di Michele won't play, he'll get worse, his fitness will deteriorate, he'll go back to Italy with no hope of a Serie A career and will disappear to the lower leagues in short order. Waste of time and money. Why do managers bother getting players who they know will have a hard time adapting to the Premiership? If you wanted cover, use a youth player, who'll at least be able to handle the pace.

Yep, gotta agree with viktor.

Most English managers ain't got a clue, Curbishley in particular. It's all elementary now as the bloke's left/been sacked.
