I'm very happy with Coates and Pulis for delivering what no-one outside of the Stoke fanbase really expected them to. There was loads of people slagging us off for only making 2 signatures at the time when Sorensen signed, and Stoke fans, with the re-assurance of the management, kept the faith that more were coming and it all worked out

A shame that we don't have Ledley, I was getting hopeful last night that he'd have come, I'd have rathered they put the £2mil for Tonge on top and made an £8m offer that Cardiff would have to have taken, but maybe in January.

ye ledly would be good in january , but tbh am sure we will find some other good players in jan aswel because we will see more of players and how they are doin in the season.

very unlikely but ledly might do awful this season and could bring someone even better in.

Im so knackered this morning, after going down the brit, getting in at 1:30, cold and damp,

BUT IT WAS WORTH IT

All them people that said "we haven't signed much this season 10 new players have enterd the team, we have a massive team now,

season starts now for us, TP is said to be very happy with the team.

IM SO EXITED LOL

Foxes fan here. Just wanted to comment on your signings (if you dont mind). Id also like to apologise if I annoy anyone for posting on your team, I wouldnt normally condone it myself but I want Stoke to do well this year. Although you relegated us lot last year (which has turned out to be a blessing in disguise), I really want you to stay up.

Looking at your signings, there only seems to be a few proven premiership players. The others seem to be made up from the lower leagues. Despite this possibly improving your squad, do you think the signings (eg - tonge for 2m) will keep you up this year, or do you think that the people you've signed aren't premiership quality??

Palace fan in peace - i hope Soares does do well for you, he was a good player at Palace but has never reached the heights he was tipped to reach year in year out, so maybe a change will do him good. He needs to score more goals i think, also i don't think we ever found his tru position, he has played all over the midfield for us, but on his day he puts in some great tackles and does a lot of running.

I wouldnt play Soares on the left, he hasnt got the pace, trickery or a left foot to make the position his own.

Play him in the middle to get the best out of him.

yeah i'd agree with that. he looked his best for us in the middle, i always thought he would make a good defensive midfielder, with the occasional surge upfield. he may be a ben watson figure, where he will shine more in the prem than in the championship. i wish him all the best though, and good luck to stoke, hopefully we won't be playing you next year unless we go up...

Slightly off topic now but what the hey;

Like most Stokies i was a big fan of Danny Higginbum last time he was here but let's just wait and see how long it takes the gold digger to leave this time - I think one whiff of relegation and he'll be off to whoever is winning the championship this year!

Plus I think we need to remember that when we first signed him we played him at left-back and he looked average, it was only when we moved him to centre-back that he really got going, turning in all those rock-solid performances.

I hope he proves me wrong though, and I'm sure I wont care if he saves us with his tackles n hopefully a few goals

Like to echo similar sentiments to rich_potter. Glenn Whelan was a fantastic box to box midfielder for the Wednesday. He is not the finsihed article but I was confident that, surrounded by better players, he would improve. I can only guess there may be a personality clash between him and the manager. I think most Sheffielders would agree that they would rather have Whelan in their team than Tongue who has been geting a lot of criticism of late. All the best for the season.
