It has just been announced on Sky Sports News that Kevin Bond has been sacked as Bournemouth manager.

Thoughts on the sacking? And who will replace him?

Jimmy would do a great job for you and you'll have a good season!! He took shrewsbury as far as he could but he can do a job in League Two!!

The team was playing terrific at the end of last season - maybe the best side ever relegated to Div2? - but it was the financial problems/end of loans which meant that the squad couldn't be kept together which was not really Bond's fault.

Also, the pressure of starting the season 17 points adrift can hardly be very encouraging - how unfair was that - well you have sorted your finances out, but not how we told you to sort them out, so we will destroy next season for your club and your fans as well as this one.

Having said that though I am not upset KB has been moved on as I think it will be better with a fresh start - I hope Jimmy gets the job.

Good shout from the board. A start this bad for a recently relegated team is just not good enough.

Considering the effort we made to survive (and that without the 10 point deduction last year we'd have been a safe mid-table club), results have been intolerable. He deserves to go.

I do like how the board choose to announce the decision, the first managerial casualty in the football league this season (correct me if I'm wrong) during the hectic transfer hours. Kind of reminds me of Sammy Lee getting sacked from Bolton last year on the morning after England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008; try and put the news out there at a time when it'll get lost in the shuffle!!
