Another boost for Hibs. He won't be going clubbing much.

Riordan admitted himself to Mixu that he does not like defending, rather playing in central attack. WGS like every player to defend.....plus this guy needs to grow up a bit more, his off field antics, i.e. being banned by all nite clubs speaks volumes of the character he is. WGS was right to get shot of him, we even got money for him, well done Gordon!!! applause

Sad to see the demise of Riordan. Thought he had lots to offer and didn't get the chance
Good luck to him, hope he gets back to the player he was

Riordan has only got himself to blame for the "poor treatment" he received at Celtic. His attitude in training and towards fellow team-mates was amateurish in the extreme. Evidence of his over-inflated ego is there for all to see in the stories in the press about his extra-curricular activities in his hometown of Edinburgh. Of course, then he was a "Celtic thug". Now he's left it's all "poor old Derek Riordan getting treated abomnibally by that nasty Celtic".

He's an idiot and good riddance to him. However, somehow I do think he will come back to haunt Celtic sooner or later.

All this rubbish from Celtic supporters about being sorry to see riordan go, why?
I never understood why he was built up as some sort of Messiah. He was given opportunites and did absolutely nothing. Not one game, goal or performance in 3 years stands out for me.
I for one am glad to see him go. He can now drag the name of Hibs through the mud off the park with his regular court appearances as opposed to Celtic...good riddance "Deek"

You actually dont have a clue do ya. How pathetic Derek Riordan was an amazing talent and wasted at celtic.

Riordans goal againts Chicago Fire there ya go that was an amazing goal. One off the best av seen in a celtic top never mind just a Riordan goal.

As in a game that sticks out if Riordan got his chance then he defo would have made a difference. Nobody can make a difference in 10 minutes and thats all he ever got.

So good luck deek wish you aw the best.

opusdei1916 - you are 100% correct - he is a little NED who is ultimately very talented but will ruin it all by returning to his shell-suited ned mates rather than having the guts to match his ego and heading somewhere to REALLY prove himself.
But us in Edinburgh can look forward to his casual entourage getting banned from all the pubs as well as the night clubs. Hope it doesn't take too long....

ALOT OF PLAYERS TENT TO LOSE THEIR GAME AFTER THEY MOVE TO A BIGGER CLUB. EG STEVEN WITTAKER FOR HIBS HAD DRIVING PACE IN HIM AND RAN PAST DEFENDERS THEN RANGERS SNAPPED HIM UP AND HAVNT YET SEEN THAT ENERGY HE HAD FOR HIBS

Imagine O'Connor back at ER, and it could happen. i'll bring him up with me in November if you like. He's been on and off at St. Andrews and will probably be surplus if Birmingham go up/look like going up this year. Good business at say 250k?
