Novak vs Cilic- great game shows the future

Anyone who watched the Djokovic vs Cilic match last night was rewarded with a treat. To say that it was a tricky draw for the world number 3 now seems something of an understatment.

Cilic proved what a great player he can be, not only possesing a killer serve (if he can cut out the double faults) but having a great all-round game. Novak will be relieved to get through after such a battle, it was nice to see them hug at the end, they both had a lot of respect for the way eachother had played. Some of the points were so entertaining, featuring not just bassline rallies but exchanges at the net, dropshots, vollies...

This could be the future of tennis. These young guys seem to run down every ball in a way that Nadal seemed almost a one-off. Not anymore. Nadal must now try to win as much as possible in the next few years, because with a new crop of players coming up, the loss of just a little bit of pace from him would be a big blow.

Cmon on Robredo?

A lot - well, all - of the anti-Djokovic vibe is either unfair, misinterpretated, or straight-up fabricated to justify a personal dislike based on nothing. Djokovic has done nothing wrong.

That said, I wouldn't shed any tears if he lost to Robredo, one of the best players yet to have reached a major semi-final.

FIFTH SET

2119: News of another potential upset from the Louis Armstrong Court where Luxembourg's Gilles Muller took the first set 6-4 against fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko 6-4 and has just gone 3-0 up in the second. The winner of that match will play either defending champion Roger Federer or Igor Andreev in the last eight.
========================================
This is big news for Andy Murray. I think (I may be wrong) that if Davydenko leaves the tournament a round or more before him, Murray will become the world number 4.

Is anyone else hoping for a repeat of the Wimbledon final?

yup ManUnited...was just about to post that...although it has just gone back on serve at 3-4 (davydenko breaking)...but lets hope Muller Light stays good for the rest of the match!

We still have to watch out for Andy Roddick and Gonzalez, as they can overtake Andy Murray in rankings I think if Andy chokes tomorrow and they go further in the tournament.

Thanks for putting my comment on the main page.

Yeah Pottiella, You can't rule Davydenko out of winning that match.

Andy was terrific yesterday (Well, the early hours of this morning). I can't see him losing tomorrow.
