Pavlyuchenko???

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur

I am a Liverpool fan and I am not trying to be a WUM, but this is my honest opinion. I wish Roman all the best at Spurs but:

Does anyone else think that Pavlyuchenko could be a very expensive but average player for Spurs? He's 27 years old and has had one good Euro tournament, but he's had chances to break onto the big scene in the past and hasn't taken them. It seems to me that 14million pounds is a lot to pay for a striker whose goals per game record is very good but in a fairly poor league (if you take out the top 4) and he could be a big gamble by Juande Ramos.

Any thoughts??

To "eftymoore" if your response was in "The Queen's English" then we may have more of a clue as to "what hte blazes are you bangin' on about ?" Broken English is all very well but I am sure your article would sound aot better if the spelling was "familiar" to everyone ! Or maybe you shouldn't get pissed or stoned before trying to drive a computer to the 606 Pages ! Pavylechenko will be a sught better than Rebrov turned out to be "hopefully"!

Well we will see. He caused England no end of trouble in Moscow and knocked us out of the Euro's - so did Modric.

Keane and Berbatov are great players and difficult to replace. Only time will tell.

Nice to see Keane living up to his price tag though. That air shot against Standard Liege did make me laugh. Get used to that mate he misses far more than he scores..

why is every one calling russian league an average. Come on they have won 2 uefa cup in 4 years, which have not done any other league apart from Spains sevilla.

top scorer in russian league for 3 seasons - can't ask more than that. i am sure spurs have seen a lot more of him than the euro champs (where he scored more goals than Torres of the winners, spain) LFC bought keane, a 28 year old for £20m. i bet Pav will score more goals this season.

anyway, LFC commenting on transfers. Rafa has signed nearly 50 players in his time at LFC, spent nearly £250m while recouping only a fraction of that sum. yet LFC still lack high quality wingers and full backs and are probably 3 or 4 player short of a league challenging squad. Rafa has effectively disbanded your academy, and developed a reserve team full of foreign lads.

It seems to me that 20 million is an awful lot more for a player with a good scoring record in a poor league (if you take out the top 3)and is a bigger gamble by benitez

If all what you say is true then I'm surprised the fat waiter didn't sign him (and then put him in goal).
I'll still have a fiver on him scoring more than Keane this season.
