He is a great signing for Ipswich. I'm a Blade and can say that he always gives 100%. He might not be a prolific scorer but is a great professional.

I do think we have made somewhat of a mistake in letting Jon go. He has never been given a fair chance, More so the times he has played for me he did run his socks off trying to create space. A very nice lad both at bramall lane and in the community helping kids. Sorry to see you go big fella I do hope you finally get your chance to shine.

Don't get your hopes up after reading all the comments on here about how great he is. For some reason most United fans seem to think the sun shines out his @*$*! He's an average Championship player at best, just look at his goal scoring record, it's very poor.

definatly not prem class but a solid signing 4 ipswich not a great goal scorer but works very hard and creates space well

Derby fan in peace here,

We signed Stead in the 06/07 season, we signed him on loan from Sept 06 until Jan 07, and he did hardly anything for us.

I don't think he's a brilliant player, but he should be good for you.

Arturo Lupoli, he's a brilliant player, I wish we could have signed him permanently when we took him on a season long loan back in 06/07.

If stead does well and scores then Blackwell will keep him at the lane and not sell him. The idea will be to get him playing more football.

Don't know why I am on here but whenever I saw Stead he played like a donkey. However an awful lot of managers seem(ed) to have rated him so who am I to argue. BUT - he seems to have moved around a lot for someone who is only 25
