Comparing him to Lucas is stupid. Lucas got to Liverpool after being Brazilian League player of the year, and nobody's ever heard of Flora here in Brazil... Even BBC's article link to Botafogo links to the WRONG club...

I'm tired of this, how exactly can you justify us being in a better position at all, let alone the gap you claim there is.

Houillier guided us to 2nd in 2001-2002, during which he had the heart attack and many people said he was never the same again and clearly, his decision making went down hill, which you can't blame him for. Still, he left with us holding onto 4th some distance from the title, yeah how things change....

He took over in 2004 - 2005, so where we were in 2001 - 2002 is really not that relevant. For the record though your saying Houillier's best season was the one he wasn't there for half of it. Got to tell you something

Anyway some facts. He arrived after we finished 4th, 30 points of the lead, and lost ten games. We are now 4th, 11 points of the lead and lost four.

On top of this our squad is far better having shipped out the legion of French drivel. Yes there have been bad buys, but he is having to take some gambles.

Finally the football is at least football to a point. We pass, hold the ball well, and defend well. Admittedly it’s not very exciting. As far as I recall we were almost a long ball team after Houillier had finished, lump up to hesky and hope for the best.

Justified enough? No well lets think about the fact the both Carragher and Gerrard were looking at the door before he came, and he did something to convince them.

Ultimately staggered by the rubbish I see posted on here to be honest. 4th a big ask? How exactly? where is the challenge coming from?

Its good that we got Flora he looks a good talent but a mate of mine told me that the player we really could have done with was the sublime Benecol who looks even better .Rumour has it that the yanks werent prepared to stump the extra 1.78!
