Transfer deadline day

by Paul Fletcher (U1816326) 01 September 2008
comment on the article

So here we are once again. Transfer deadline day. One of the most exciting days of the year or one of the most unnecessary? Maybe that is a debate for another time.

The focus today is firmly on who is on the move.

Doubtless plenty of top-draw footballers - and plenty of modest ones as well - will be spotted at various airports, hotels, training grounds and other assorted places of business as the rumour mill goes into overdrive. If you do see anyone, be sure to tell us.

606 was up all night (it was only meant to be open until 0100 BST but something went wrong). I'm glad you all enjoyed the late night. As you can see though, this thread is now very, very long. I'll be closing it shortly. Thanks all for your contributions.

Cheers.

It is starnge that there has been no comments from Robinho(od). Maybe he is still shell-shocked after he found out that it was City that he has signed on not United!!

I can not believe that Wenger has refused to splash the cash. He is on the website calling Eboue a 'pass master'. Is it just me or has Wenger lost the plot? Eboue is an awful player and guives up possesion continually. I'm afraid, we have been told there is money to spend but Wenger refuses to. Is it a case of it being more about his ego than the success of the club? If this continues how do we expect to hold on to our best players!

andreas johannsson signing for man yooo on a 2 year loan deal worth around £50 million...sir alex has described this signing as one of excellent goalscoring ability and experience to the team. cristiano ronaldo may have to spend some time on the sidelines as johansson also plays on the right

Denchanter™ (U2894071) - Sorry threads must generally be 2,000 posts or fewer in length or they become unmanageable. This was an exception to the rule, but it is closing now.

Thanks again to all of you for making the transfer window such fun.
