Win at all costs?

comment on the article

Now, before you start, this is not directed at our team as a game-plan for the Villa clash at the weekend. This is an article about the great Manchester United and the 'win at all costs' mentality that has been instilled into these players from a man who clearly cannot face reality and justice.

Quite frankly, if that was Steven Gerrard or Carra last night i would have been utterly embarrased and sick at the thought of someone who i admire could stoop to an act so low, that it can only be deemed as unfairly gaining an advantage. The sheer fact that John O'Shea ran over to 'congratulate' Scholes on his 'goal' needs no explaining. This is just how it is at some clubs.

Also, it was well deserved win for Zenit, acknowleged by Fergie, and they played very well. United on the other hand, looked toothless and showed how much they miss Ronaldo. We will probably be told that Carrick and the other fella would have meant they would have won last night but the truth is, Wayne cant score, Tevez is a glorified Kuyt and ITV clearly should head the Manchester United appreciation society.

YNWA, keep winning fair.

I didn't get to see the game last night... what actually happened?

Gerrard did not dive at Villa, did he hit the dirt? I think not. He appealed for a foul and the ref gave it. End of. But tomorrow there's no Gerrard, but there'll still be a Liverpool win. Just to prove that Villa are not big enough for Barry.

Tell woody allen (O Neill) to stop tapping up players (i.e Milner) in the same way he castigates other clubs of doing.

i made a perfectly valid point and you want to try and be insulting? Gerrard DID dive against us, he also nearly broke boatangs leg when we played you at your place a few years ago, but i guess thats by and by.

As for us being a tiny club, one that only 3 english clubs have ever won more than (one being you), the club that has spent the most this summer, the only club in english history to have won a FA or UEFA sponsered competition in every decade (excluding decades with world wars) since the leagues inception. But were terrible, according to you lot at least. We're not half as bad as you think and without your two really top players, you are a lot worse. se we'll see, and i'll enjoy seeing! White hot atmosphere, and a good game.

What amuses me that the goal against Villa was a superb free kick, given for an admittedly soft foul. Midfield callenges and appeals occur ever weekend in every league around the world.

The only memorable thing about the incident was the brilliance of the strike.

Scholes handballing the ball into the net is an entirely different matter.

Villa fans are so amusing. Gerrard dived! Go back and look at the video - he appealed for a foul! Has no Villa player ever done the same thing?

As for your history. Even a Manc would concede that there is just no comparison between our two history's

did i once compare it to yours? no. you have a better history that us, else i would have SAID IT in the previous post? He dived period, end of story it was not a foul, the ref gave it him , its a dive, stevie wonder ould see it was a dive, in fact even some of my liverpool fan mates know its a dive, they acepted it was and moved on, after all you did win,a nd thats all the history books remember.

but you also have a nastier side to your history than us.

As for villa players diving, the player who does it the most is barry, but he is SO terrible at it he hardly ever wins free kicks. Baros dived a bit in his time, and A Young can be knocked over easy.

villa4title If everybody has moved on and the record books say it was a win for us why drag it all up again?

I can't let your second comment go without qualification. What happened at Hysel was unacceptable and I don't think you'll meet a RED who would deny that. We all have things in our pasts that are better left there. To drag it into this discussion is a very cheap shot indeed.

i know its unnaceptable i wasnt saying otherwise-just pointing out all clubs have highs and lows, and as i have said, i know a lot of liverpool fans , even mather is a (brummie glory hunting lol) liverpool fan-and i know that people think its terrible as any proper football fan wouild say, and all clubs had their problems in that area. i just have hated the way that liverpool fans all summer have been saying how small a club, how terrible, how generally rubbish we are, when in all reality, we arent really that bad at all, just not as good as you.

It does break both ways mate. We've had "you're broke", "you tapped him up"posts all summer (if you can call it that!).

So, Sunday will come and let's hope it is a good match. See ya monday!
