Are we too patient?Premier League Liverpool by AdamFarebrother-- Liverpool and Preston (U8468348) 30 August 2008  Just a thought. We have been doing this for years now, but are we too patient? some commentators are impressed by this but i find it boring and useless. We pass the ball between are defence and when the ball does reach the midfield we pass it around and eventually pass it back to the defence again. No one but Torres(and Kuyt miserably) tries to take someone on. Maybe this might change with the Riera signing but we need players who can take the opposition on and whip a ball into the box. Hopefully Riera signing will stop Benayoun constantly being placed in the line-up when id much rather have Pennant instead of him. Latest comments

countydownred (U13090365) posted Aug 30, 2008 most teams tend to reflect the personality of their manager,i would use the words boring or negative in our case,not patient,we dont have flair players because benitez starts a match trying not to lose it,instead of setting out to win,there's a difference.think about this,when tevez and mascherano were up for grabs we went for the defensive midfielder while manu signes the attack minded player,does'nt that tell you something?

briancressthered (U10345349) posted Aug 30, 2008 i agree 100% with countydownred,i have said all along the only reason kuyt is in that side is because of his defensive work not his attacking play.I still cant understand why you start a premiership game against the likes of wigan who are going to play 11 men behind the ball with two defensive midfielders which is what benitez prefers.i can understand if your playing man utd or chelsea every week,but against other teams lower than maybe sixth it should be about attacking,breaking teams down and with our system of play it makes it very difficult Comment on this article |
