Confirming the presence of Guinea international defender Kamil Zayatte on Tyneside, Kevin Keegan said on Friday:

"We had him in training this morning and he certainly looks like someone who could improve us. He plays three or four positions and I like those sorts of players so we'll see where we go."

SkySports had reported on Thursday evening that United Newcastle had made a move to secure the defender from the Swiss club Young Boys Berne.

The 23 year-old had looked set to join Everton but that deal hasn't come to fruition and the player's agent Willie Mackay said:

"He is at Newcastle today and, considering he can play at right-back, central defender and as a holding midfielder, he could be a very valuable signing for them. He played for Guinea against the Ivory Coast a couple of weeks ago and this has alerted a lot of clubs."

Hmmm. It says right back and center back. BUT WE NEED A LEFT BACK!!!! Ah well at least KK is doing some buisiness. 1 down, 4 to go!
