Rafa likes to have time with his players to formulate tactics to the nth degree, but with Internationals, Olympics and minor injuries he has been deprived of this. I expect after the internationals when the situation has settled down, we will start to play. Add to this the speculation over xabi, barry etc and we have enough reasons to explain y. Latest comments

Gerrard's absence will also take the shackles off Alonso, and also allow Keane to make more of the runs he likes to make. If Babel starts as well then we will be much improved than in our previous games this season.
