just my opinion on the whole "playing badly" situatioon. Rafa likes to have time with his players to formulate tactics to the nth degree, but with Internationals, Olympics and minor injuries he has been deprived of this. I expect after the internationals when the situation has settled down, we will start to play. Add to this the speculation over xabi, barry etc and we have enough reasons to explain y.

The key game is always the next and Villa away is an oppotunity with Lucas, masch, babel back to actually play a side that will not sit back and wait to counter. This will suit us perfectly we are a better passing footballing side and the expansive game will result in a LFC win, Vila are weak at the back ideal for Torres/Keane and average in midfield where we are strongest.

PS - Pls Villa supporters no "but we have MILNER,Aggy and Young, they are not in the class of Babel,Xabi,Masch,Torres,Keane and only match Pennant!!!!!!!!!!!

Predicted Result 1-3 LFC

I think Mascherano's return will be the key for us. Gerrard's absence will also take the shackles off Alonso, and also allow Keane to make more of the runs he likes to make. If Babel starts as well then we will be much improved than in our previous games this season.

I'm not a Villa fan but even I can see Young is twice the player Babel is.

It's naive to underestimate Villa like that. They may have lost to Stoke of all people but they're still a good team.
The biggest plus is simply having Mascherano back. With Masch back we can throw the full backs forward more, Keane can play in behind Torres instead of along side him, and Alonso can get forward to chip in. I expect a big improvement with him back, but still it'll be no walk in the park.

Even as a red i think Young is a class player.
But Babel hasn't been given the chance like Young.

As a Liverpool fan i want to apologise to Villa fans. We have a tradition of being humble but competitive, seems to be we have little kids on here. Villa park normally a hard place to go, best team on the day will win.

With Gerrard out, Keane and Alonso can play there own football, also if Kuyt and Benayoun don't play ie not get under everyone's feet in the middle of the park, then we can have a lot mroe space to be creative.
