what was all that drivel by KK on the transfer of Milner??
"It was mine and only My ultimate decision to sell him "
after catogoricaly stating in the press he wanted to keep him....more pressure from wise and ashley.
if kevs not careful ashley will hang him out to dry.

Was this the statment after the Coventry game when he said how good a player he was etc etc? Maybe that was KK's last throw of the dice to try and convince Milner to stay? To show him how much he values him?

He admitted that he didnt want him to leave but was forced to accept the offer because Milner wouldn't stay. It had nothing to do with Ashley and Wise pulling the strings so to speak.

He would have prefered him to stay but noticed he was unhappy and thought it was best to let him go.

PLease try and read comments in the context they are used in because silly outbursts like this do nothing but harm the relationship between fans and the board... although that might be why a Villa fans on here spouting nonsense doh

Errr excuse me DMW, if you ACTUALLY LISTEN (yes thats right, listen), then you would realise that over time Keegan gets the say on all players departures and arrivals. Being a die-hard Newcastle fan you should know that. However in David Moyes case, he asks for the money for a player and is told no. Your lack of transfer activity should be more of a worry to you, than our own ongoings.

Poor old KK???
NUFC are in great shape. MA is a clever guy, he knows what he wants for the club and will do it properly. When there's good business to be done he'll do it, but only if KK agrees, let's make no bones about that. KK is there to look after the 1st team, something he is amazing at. MA has got a seperate team in Wise and Jimenez scouting out the best young talent in europe and bringing them in to the youth team. In 3 or 4 years time we should be able to bring out a top, top side without having to spend any money.... remember Man U bringing out the Neville's, Becks, Scholes, Butt, Giggs et al???
Milner has been at the club for years and has been a great servant to the cause. The thing is that he's not really reaching his "potential" after playing 1st team football since he was 16! He's a good solid premier league player but is no world beater. NUFC are looking to improve their team and James wanted out for more money. He's also probably looking at the signing of Spiderman and thinking, christ he's good!!!
New players are in the pipeline otherwise his transfer request would have been denied. What a nice change for NUFC to make a profit on a player!!?
I think the future is bright for us Toon fans. At last we have a proper structure in place and we're set to reap the rewards. It won't be an over night success, let's be real, but i'm looking forward to the next few seasons with renewed vigour!

ps. Spurs at home in the Carling Cup, bring it on!!!!

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realise you were in the board discussions between David Moyes and our owners?

It looks like we're about to sign our fourth player of the summer with a possible fifth coming in as well thereby meaning we've actually signed more players than NUFC, who have brought in three, one of whom is a Liverpool reserve team reject that Bolton didn't want to keep on.

Add to that the fact that our team is far better than NUFC's even without signings, hence why we keep finishing above you, and I'm not so worried.

If anything you should be worried about the amount of transfer activity taking players OUT of NUFC, with Milner already gone and Owen, Martins and N'Zogbia clearly wanting to leave St James.

DMW - go to premierleague.com and look up the table based on the whole time the premier league has been running. You'll see that despite NUFC being in the Prem for a year less than Everton, we still have more points than you!! In fact, so do blackburn, spurs and villa!
Also, NUFC have actually signed more than 3 playes. Collocini, Spidey, Guthrie, Bassong and some young guns!!

...Keegan said his meeting this week with Ashley was "great" but those close to Milner say Keegan supported his reasonable request for a new deal; Dennis Wise, they say, said not.

Reasonable request? Haha didn't he only sign a contract one season ago and has already amassed more money than most of us will earn in our lives?

The only thing more ridiculous about Milner's self image is that it seems to be shared by Liverpool who have just paid upwards of £10 million for a player who will probably do a bad job of sitting on the bench looking perplexed as to why he's not starting in front of Gerrard, Alonso et al.
